I have a fully healed septum piercing that is so painful and I'm not quite sure what to do.

My septum piercing was done 8 years ago so fully healed and I wear a clicker hoop septum ring. Unfortunately due to a mix of incompetent doctors and conflicting meds I ended up with a delightful case of Serotonin Syndrome from pain meds reacting with pain management meds. This meant I had a night of being violently sick. I have since learned you should hold your nose but you live and learn. Since then my piercing has been soooooo painful. It stings when the ring moves or if I touch my nose. I'm salt watering it, as I assume that's the correct thing to do but any other suggestions or things I need to be aware of or watch out for?
