CE keeps coming on after fuel pump replaced

My check engine light keeps coming on despite having just had my fuel pump replaced. When the guy who replaced my pump checked it, it was the fuel pump code again. Literally nothing is wrong with it. There are no symptoms of anything being wrong with it. It won't turn off. 2018 Subaru WRX. Not in the VIN range affected by the recall. I just want to be sure I'm not going to get stranded in the middle of nowhere on my 900-mile drive home.

Also the code was cleared out, it came back on after about 10 to 15 minutes of driving both times, and my in-car OBDII scanner is picking up the light but not the code.

P0420 code and stalling out randomly

2013 Chrysler 200, 2.4L LX.

It’s throwing a P0420 code and stalling out randomly while driving. I haven’t checked the spark plugs yet, but I plan to. I want to make sure it’s definitely the cat before my friend spends money on a new one. I did tell her there is a reason if the cat failed that must be addressed as well. I know how to check the plugs. How do I test for other possible causes, such as bad sensors or an exhaust leak? Should she just take it to a mechanic for a diagnostic?

I don’t really have any tools here since I just came to pick up my own car (whose fuel pump failed, hence being stuck here for now) and was supposed to go straight home. I want to help out as best I can since she’s found me a place to stay that isn’t a hotel, lol.

Is the stalling during driving in addition to the code a definite failed cat? She also keeps telling me it’s the “front” cat, but when I called CDJ for a part number, they said only one part comes up as a catalytic converter.

I’ve worked on cars for years, but really only to change out parts I already knew were bad. I have no idea how to diagnose for bad sensors or exhaust leaks.

TIA.

We have tried heat, clamping and smacking. We don't have penetrating oil on hand. How do we get this misaligned bolt out of this socket?

Like the title says, we have tried clamping and hitting it with a hammer and punch and heating the socket and hitting with a hammer and punch. After all of that, we noticed it was misaligned. We don't have penetrating oil on hand or any concrete to throw it on. What else can we do to get this bolt out of this 14mm socket?
