Best way to find housing in Salem?

Hi folks! Longtime Bay Stater here who just got a job in Salem and is relocating! I tried to search for this answer elsewhere but I couldn't find it or just didn't know how to search.

How do folks these days find their apartments? Online, like Zillow? another site? a realtor? carrier pigeon? The last time I was on the MA rental market was in 2015, and it seems like everything has changed since then, especially with the new laws on realtor fees.

I'm not in Salem at the moment (currently living internationally) and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by the process. Do I just make a trip stateside to look at stuff in real life? So thanks in advance for any advice you might have. I'm excited to be a part of your city soon!

EDITED: does anyone have recommendations of apartment complexes? I don't need luxury, but I would like professionally run, clean and quiet. My budget isn't super high (MAX $2200/month) but hopefully high enough?

I made a travel case!

Well, maybe made is a strong verb. Found a cigarette case at a thrift store. Added some baubles I had lying around and suddenly I have a little travel case for some samples!

I've been traveling for work too much lately and having little, portable altars to myself, to remind me of who I am in an anonymous hotel room, has become so important to me.

April pans a little late!

Pic 1:

Ekos hand lotion - a gift that I loved using. The price will prevent me from repurchasing however

Dove conditioner - gets the job done. I'm working on a second one of these. I'll probably choose something different when I'm finally done with my stash.

Tea Tree Shampoo - totally fine but a little too invigorating for me as I typically shower at night to wind down

Byoma jelly cleanser - okay, but I prefer Cetaphil

Beloved hand lotion - I liked it, but the packaging was not friendly. Would not repurchase.

a hate pan lip balm finally gone!

Garnier face masks - they work insofar as they are a fun sensory experience but I'm pretty sure they have no actual effect on my skin. I still have a large stash but once they are gone, that's it.

Pic 2:

expired sunblocks going to the trash

brow makeup that doesn't work for me and has been open for more than a year (also trash)

a concealer that is so old all the branding is gone (to the trash -- too old, plus the color is wrong)

Trader Joe's shampoo bar - this leaves my hair SO CLEAN that I can't even run my fingers through it because all the oils are gone. It also dries my skin out so much. I wanted to like it but I think it will ruin my hair and skin if I try to use it. Will put it in the little free home goods library near the local community fridge. Same with the travel soap.
