Next week will be the first time for both me and my husband to visit Yosemite. We have three nights in housekeeping camp. We are driving up from LA, we are planning to leave early in the morning for the drive (probably 6 am).

I was looking into the must-sees of the park and one of them is Mariposa Grove. Seeing that it is very Southern in the park would it be smart to make a stop there on our way up before we reach the camp?

We would probably be there around noon if we leave around 6 am from LA.

Or is it recommended to go back down there on one of the two full days we have in the park?
