I have used the discount in-store plenty of times and am told it is automatically applied when I get ringed up, since I registered my Ulta rewards member ID # back when I was onboarding. Prestige manager told me that the same should happen when I place an online order and to look for the discount to be applied to my total during checkout.

There is no discount applied during the online checkout process at all and no discount code for me to enter either (another manager told me to check my email for a code to enter when placing an online order). What is the correct way to use the associate discount on the Ulta website/app?
