Finalizing pet insurance

I'm down to my last few days before I have to finalize a policy for my two kitties. Any general thoughts? I'm worried about Trupanion's rising costs, but I want the reliability. The direct vet pay isn't as essential for me with Care Credit. I love Chewy, but their insurance hasn't been around as long and I worry if they or Trupanion drop each other. Metlife mainly seems nice with the wellness.

I signed up for Trupanion, Chewy through Trupanion, and Metlife.

Chewy through Trupanion is the Complete Accident and Wellness. $24 for my 17 mo. and $47 for my 6 yo with $250 deductible for each.

Trupanion has a $50 and $300 deductible respectively. It costs $58 for the 17 mo with a $50 deductible - I can definitely raise this, and raising it to even $150 saved me roughly $11 per month. I pay $74 for my 6 yo. Both have the recovery and complementary care rider.

Metlife is unlimited with a family plan and $500 deductible. I am going to switch this to individual. I pay $157 pet month with the 'standard wellness plan' which I was able to enroll in thanks to my employer and speaking with an agent. Otherwise, Metlife is similar in cost to Trupanion - roughly $110 per month.

Forgot to add - no health problems or previous signs/symptoms at all for the kitten. For my six year old, I mentioned him sneezing 4 times three years ago, mild gingivitis last year, and his albumin was mildly elevated but my vet didn't comment on it in the notes...Just said "healthy boy" and gave him the mild gingivitis diagnosis.

Apartment AC Broken since July

Hi all,

Any recommendations for dealing with apartment complexes not fixing the AC?

We moved into Bristol Place over a month ago and the AC was broken upon move in. It's 79 degrees in the unit right now. They've tried cleaning, recharging, etc. the AC more times then I can count. We're trying to be patient, but they keep dragging this out. They still haven't called out a professional AC tech. They keep closing the tickets. They won't allow temporary units. They gave us a portable unit for a week and then took it away, but even then it only kept the AC from going above 75 degrees.

No compensation offered. We've asked about credits multiple times and it's always no update.

It's probably not worth an attorney, but the AC is only one of the many maintenance problems we've had upon move in.

Metlife vs Trupanion vs Lemonade

I'm chronically indecisive and would love some feedback on which pet insurance to aim for with two kitties. After our ten year old passed last year following a long road of debilitating hyperthyroidism with medicine. Our oldest (12 years) got it in September and we immediately shelled out the cost for the I-131 treatment and the follow ups. We're easily over $20k in the last 4 years for both. I then purchased insurance with PetsBest for our two youngest cats last year and want to switch due to the rising premiums.

I have a one year old ragdoll and a six year old domestic shorthair. No health problems claims, abnormal labs, etc. Last year, my vet recommended an eventual dental cleaning for my oldest, so I know that will probably be pre-existing. (Fun fact: The vet asked if his teeth had been cleaned recently because of how good they looked! He's never had a dental cleaning.)

Trupanion - I like Trupanion for the stability. It's really high, but I can afford it. I am a bit worried about the rising cost of exam fees. Youngest cat is $39/month for a $200-350 deductible. Oldest is $83 per month with $350 deductible. Both with recovery and complementary care.

Metlife - Metlife quoted me $150ish for both with 90% coverage, $500 deductible, unlimited payout, NLNG, and the standard wellness care package. $100ish for no wellness.

Lemonade - $108 for both with 90% coverage, $500 deductible, $50k annual max, plus dental, vet visit fees, and PT.

Chewy through Trupanion - Roughly $50/month for the oldest and $23 per month for the youngest with $500 deductible, 90% coverage, and unlimited payout - complete accident and wellness. Worried about Chewy given how new they are, but I love and trust Chewy as a company.

For those with 80 or 90% coverage rates, or no exam fees coverages, how do you fare?

Thanks for any help you can provide!
