Questions about internal promotion
I’ve been in my current role (GG08 level) for about 13 months. During a recent career development discussion, my manager mentioned she is very satisfied with my performance. However, she noted that I would need to wait until at least after the year-end review process because there are currently no open positions/headcount at the next level.
I want to better understand how internal promotion cycles work here and what to expect regarding compensation.
Promotion Timing & Process: How long does the process usually take to build a promotion case, or when the next promotion starts usually starts at rbc?
Salary Percentage Increase: What is a realistic salary percentage increase for moving from GG08 to GG07?
Band Placement & Negotiation: A standard 10%–15% increase would place me near the bottom of the GG07 Zone B. Is it realistic to negotiate higher than 10%–15% upon promotion, or do standard HR promotion caps usually apply?
