Chronic Anal gland issues?

So our dog is an approx. 11 y/o hound mix (she's a rescue so unsure of specific breeds), and for the last year or so has had chronic anal gland issues. She licks her butt constantly. I've taken her to the vet so many times over the past year, where they've expressed her anal glands and flushed them out, but our dog only seems to get relief for maybe a week and then she's constantly in her butt again. It's to the point where I have to stop her from doing it 10+ times a day. Not only is it gross but I know she's just making it worse constantly licking at it. Our vet doesn't seem to have any real answers other than they keep flushing her anal glands out and putting her on steroids and antibiotics. It's just becoming not feasible for us to take her in once a month to have this done plus the cost at like $400+ per visit because she has to be sedated. We've already spent thousands with no real resolution.

Anyone else dealt with something like this before? I feel bad for her because I'm sure she's in pain, but I also don't know what else to feasibly do for her.

Eaglesoft vs. Open Dental

First time about to be practice owner here. I'm in the process of buying a practice and trying to decide which practice management software to implement. The practice currently has paper charts, film x-rays, and uses Eaglesoft for billing & scheduling. It is a 4 op bread and butter dentistry practice. I've heard great things about Open Dental-that it is compatible with everything and affordable, but am also debating just keeping Eaglesoft and adding the practice management software & imaging. I've only ever used Dentrix, so I'm not familiar with either Eaglesoft or Open Dental personally.

To me, the main advantage of keeping Eaglesoft would be ease of transition for the staff. However, then I'm locked into the Patterson system with imaging, etc. Open Dental quoted me $199/month for support & a $1500 to transfer data from Eaglesoft. I'm still waiting on quotes from Patterson for what Eaglesoft would cost monthly. If I do go with Open Dental, I will have to decide which imaging software to use, where as Eaglesoft has their own.

Can anyone weigh in with their experiences with either software? Anyone have experience transitioning to Open Dental and was it a big deal? Thanks!
