One Strategy for Puzzles With Statements
Curious how others approach the puzzles with statements which include a lie. This is my strategy that I developed over two Murdle volumes.
I use a multicolor pen (that I stole from my kiddos 😏). Any checks or x’s based on clues & evidence are in purple. Any x’s assumed by clues/evidence are in blue. Statements are in orange. I use shapes that increase in number of sides (circle, triangle, square, pentagon). After that I use a pencil to start filling in the empty squares and to test which statement is false. Pencil so it’s easier to backtrack if I make a mistake. Same with the different colors. They can help me quickly identify any early error I made.
For the statements, I’ve tried a/b/c and 1/2/3, but I find shapes most effective for me so it’s easier to see the checks and x’s in pencil after.
I also use sticky notes as bookmarks for the various exhibits, current solutions page, and a metal clip for the current puzzle. The clip also serves as a weight to keep the book flat.
