Boyfriend knocked over first orchid I’ve ever owned :((
The title says it all, I’m incredibly upset and frustrated. I literally JUST BOUGHT this orchid yesterday, it’s not even 24 hours in my care.
I just got off a long ass shift and was sitting on my bed, my boyfriend was aggravated about something our roommates is doing that’s keeping him from using the bathroom.
He set his clothes and phone RIGHT next to the flowering part and when he went to grab his stuff (after I told him to be careful and watch my plant multiple times) he freaking knocked it over and it shredded my one of two stems and completely out out of its pot.
I was planning to repot it on my day off tomorrow anyway but this just genuinely hurts my heart because I was so excited about getting an orchid and have been doing research for a few months and it just gets knocked over and feels destroyed/hopeless.
I definitely know a few roots were ripped out in the mix and I’m left with some good green ones.
What the hell can I do to prevent it from loosing all its flowers immediately and what should I do about the stem that just got ripped up?
Sorry for the book of an explanation I’m just genuinely so disappointed and upset :((
