Calling all Pokémon fans!

I am excited to share a project I have been working on since my childhood: recreating all of Kanto in Minecraft. Now, I freely admit I am not the first to do this; I’m pretty late to the game. But here’s why this one is the best version (in my extremely humble opinion):

  1. It’s a 100% complete recreation specifically from LeafGreen/FireRed, with a full texture pack from those games. This is a finished product, never before posted online.
  2. Each and every detail was crafted by a single person (me!) who loved LeafGreen as a kid and held as closely as possible to the spirit of the original games.
  3. It’s not just an empty map for you to look at; it’s an adventure map that you can play through, collecting Pokéballs and gathering key items to let you progress through the world! No mods required!

If you have ever played LeafGreen or FireRed (or even if you haven’t), you will love this map!!

A New Recreation of Kanto (with texture pack)

Thought people here might be interested in a longtime project of mine that I finally just finished: a full recreation of Kanto from LeafGreen/FireRed, with a full texture pack. Now, I’ll be honest, I haven’t played Pixelmon and I don’t know how it works or if this map would be compatible with it. But just wanted to put it out for there for people to play around with.

I also realize that other people have recreated Kanto before. But I haven’t seen any others with a texture pack, which in my opinion makes it way more immersive. This map also includes an few adventure map elements so that you can enjoy running through the world without any mods. Again, not sure how that would interact with Pixelmon, but I figured it could be pretty sweet!

I hope you enjoy, and feel free to update or edit the world in any way you need (it’s currently in Minecraft 1.18.2) to make it compatible with the mod! You can download it for free here:

Downhere - For the Heartbreak [pop/rock]

Wanted to share one of my favorite songs from my favorite band of all time. If you‘ve heard of these guys, it’s probably from their hit Christmas song “How Many Kings”. That’s a great song, but they have so many other amazing songs as well that nobody knows about. I can’t recommend them highly enough. Give it a listen!

A Loving Recreation of Kanto from Pokémon LeafGreen/FireRed

I am excited to share a project from my childhood that I have finally finished! Now, I realize I am not the first to do this; I’m pretty late to the game. But here’s why I think this one is unique and why I always wanted to finish it:

  1. It’s a 100% complete recreation specifically from LeafGreen/FireRed, with a full texture pack from those games. Maybe I missed one, but looking online I didn’t see any recreations with texture packs. But it makes it infinitely better.
  2. Each and every detail was crafted by a single person (me!) who loved LeafGreen as a kid and held as closely as possible to the spirit of the original games. There are a surprising amount of decisions you have to make even though it’s a 1:1 recreation, and I’m super proud of how it turned out.
  3. It’s not just an empty map for you to look at; I added a few adventure map elements to it so you can actually play through the world, collecting Pokéballs and gathering key items which let you progress. It’s not at all the actual game (there are no mods) but it’s designed to be a fun trip down memory lane.

This project is a love letter to the good ol’ days of playing Pokémon on your Gameboy Advance. If you‘re a sucker for nostalgia like me, I hope you’ll check it out and enjoy it. You can download it from its itch.io page here (don’t worry, I’m not asking for donations):

Hello all,

I have finally completed a project that I have been working on since my childhood: recreating all of Kanto in Minecraft.

I know what you’re thinking: “Hasn’t this been done before?” Yes and no. It looks like, unsurprisingly, many people have had this idea over the years and have created Kanto in Minecraft with varying levels of completion and detail. So how is this one different? Well, for one, it’s specifically recreated from LeafGreen/FireRed, with a complete texture pack from those games. For another, it was created by a single person (me!) who loved LeafGreen as a kid and held as closely as possible to the spirit of the original games. Plus, I made it an adventure map, so you can explore the world as if you were playing the actual games! (just without all the Pokémon) If you have ever played LeafGreen or FireRed, you will love this map.

You can read more about the project and download it for free on the project‘s itch.io page:
