Please get tested if you’ve dated in AUT hospitality circles

Just putting this out there as a health reminder, especially for women in the AUT dating scene.

If you’ve been involved (especially after July 2025) with someone studying Hospitality Management at AUT (master’s level),who presents himself as Singaporean and is of Chinese background, please seriously consider getting a full STI check, not just blood tests, but swabs/PCR as well, especially if there was unprotected sex.

I hesitated for a long time before posting this.

Since 2024, we had agreed this was an exclusive relationship and that we were only seeing each other. That trust influenced a lot of decisions in the relationship, including not always using protection

More recently, I found out directly from another girl that there had been overlap while I genuinely thought we were exclusive. I also ended up hearing similar things from other people in the same circle, which honestly made me realise the situation may have been very different from what I’d been led to believe. When I asked about it directly, it was denied.

The bigger issue for me ended up being health. During this period, I experienced STI-related issues / abnormal test results, which made me realise how easy it is to assume you’re safe in a relationship when you might not actually have the full picture. A lot of infections can also be asymptomatic and may not show up on standard blood tests alone.

I’m not posting this to start drama, shame anyone, or expose private messages. I’m posting because if someone else has had similar contact, I’d rather you get checked and be safe.

Please look after yourselves. Trust is important, but your health matters too.
