My first day out with the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 as a street photography camera
Seeing if this little guy is as good as YouTubers are raving about with their free copies. LOL.
Everything after 6 feet is in focus. I find the minimum advertised acceptable distance of 2 1/2-3ish ft is way off. The dynamic range is good in RAW. Yet, It’s strange for stills with people, there isn’t much face detail past some cleaver ways the Leica lens renders sharply, but the sensor just cannot handle micro-contrast. I did find this is a great black & white camera in normal jpeg, for nice grain and throwing on some stylized contrast.
The Pureshot jpg is artifacty. Pureshot does AI magic in low light, but better for video when things are moving and you don’t see the processing.
I’m tinkering with ways to get the most out of the lens and files in color. I think I already dialed in a workflow for black & white. Battery life is better with the pro grip than a Ricoh GR. Wish me luck. I wanna make this camera work. Cheers!
