Reading a Raisin in the Sun in class might have made my sister hate me

In class today we were reading the last part of A Raisin in the sun where each class member played a part. I was Walter and during one of his final lines he says the N-word. I asked my teacher what to do and she said that it was ok to say it as it was important for the scene and that I was not saying it the author and character were. She also told me how the historical context was important too. Anyway I said the line in the scene and everything was fine we went on with class and finished the play all is well… Until I get home and my sister refuses to talk to me. We’ve always had a rocky relationship but this was especially bad. She didn’t talk about me or to me at all until after dinner when she told my parents that she hates me because I am racist. I was confused I don’t like the word and saying it once for class doesn’t mean I believe in what it stands for. Regardless of what me or parents said she refused to budge saying that she was ashamed of me and that I was not really her brother. I’m just really sad and don’t know what to say to her to explain why I said it and explain that I’m not racist.
