Mama is starting to wean them off. The amount of complaining is enormous!

Introducing old man Red to the (less) new boy. In a few weeks, we'll have to do this again with the 7 boys from the litter of 17.

King Clawthorne adores his siblings, but is still skittish around people. :|

Mama has really gotten good at staggering feedings, doing only about 5 or 6 at a time. She's also started refusing in some instances, and the kiddos seem to be getting the hint. They've started eating mama's wet food. Today, some of them got to learn the legend of Pizza Rat.

The amount of noise 17 toddler rats can make trying to feed on only 12 nipples rivals rocket launches.

We got some visible eyeballs yesterday and more today. I can't believe how big these guys are getting. Mama is cool with us handling them now, or she's just too exhausted to protest. Although, this morning when we set up her side cage for baby inspection, she booked it and insisted we open it faster. 😆 I think mama needs an assistant.

You try giving birth to 17 babies when you only have 12 nipples. What a champ. Every time she gets a chance to sleep, she sleeps the most exhausted sleep I've ever seen in a rat.
