A happy 1st birthday to my little dwarfies! ❤️

Can't believe they are a year old already!

They still act like babies!

Time goes by way too fast! 😭

Avocado

My boys love avocado.

(I apologize for the silly narration.)

Featuring:

  • Chalmers (fawn),
  • his brother Parfit (rex fawn);
  • Kripke (dark pearl dumbo),
  • his half-brother Nagel (black dumbo),
  • his brother Kolak (Russian blue dumbo),
  • their half-brother Abelard (RB), and
  • Morozko (Russian blue agouti Siamese dumbo).

Not featuring Aquinas, who was somewhere else doing something surely very important – he got some avocado later :)

do they like this?

my rats usually run around crazy cause they’re quite young. recently i’ve found a spot that makes them go still and calm when i scratch it. any reason for this? do them like this or does it hurt? also my rats have different spots that they stay still for, for one it’s when her side is getting scratches, and the other stays still and boggles when i scratch her cheek.

TLDR does my rat like this?

SUCCESS

Today two of my three half-wildies finally showed signs of trust! They are incredibly shy and scared and one even drew blood once but the other two test-bit me today, as seen at the beginning, and then started snacking and the blue of their eyes isn't as visible anymore! They also started approaching me when I put things in the cage and showing curiosity!!!!

Goodbye Dop, you were the best.

He was my first rat and my heart rat. 2 days later we lost his brother because we had to rehome him quick.

Please give me the best and funniest pictures of your rats. I need it. Im heartbroken.

Is this wheel too small? It’s at least 15 maybe 16 inches

Context: got it from another rat owner, just put it in today and photo is one of my rats using it for the first time/getting used to it, could that be why his tail is a little curled since he might’ve been uncomfortable with this random moving sphere he discovered? I’m rlly worried now bc I was so lucky to get this wheel for free and I can’t afford one otherwise. Do I need to get rid of it?

Blue wants to show you her tricks

She’s only learned two tricks so far (I only just started teaching her) but she’s 2 years old next month and picked both tricks up within 10 minutes flat.

She’s the sweetest, smartest, heart rat I could ever ask for and I’m so, so, proud.

She’s learning fetch right now 😏

I was going to add a cute picture of her as a bonus but it wouldn’t let me post a video and a picture at the same time :(

Are my rats fine??

So recently it’s been really hot in the area where I live and we put them in a cooler room for that period of time, they’re scratching themselves but I guinely thought it was “cleaning themselves”, they also have a few small wounds on their body but remy always bit Eli as they’re sister and she’s more dominant, I was on vacation for 7 days and now I came back and their coat looks like this and it freaks me out, it doesn’t seem healthy at all and I feel so bad, has anyone any idea what this might be? Their behaviour is normal so far, they take their treats, they eat their food we give them, Eli licks my fingers a lot and Remy doesn’t act different from what I noticed either. Please has anyone any idea idea what this might be? :(((

Dumpling the huge rat

Just wanted to share that I always call my pet rat a capybara. If you didn't know capybaras are the worlds biggest rodent and so because dumpling the rat is so fat and huge I call her a capybara! 😂 Also I have one called toast and she's tiny since she has a condition which makes her unable to grow properly, even though she's an adult. And because toast is so tiny I call her a mouse, and I also have a normal sized rat called mochi which I just call. Um. A rat.

The picture is the capybara dumpling btw 😂😂😂

My boy Jack and his happy noises 🥹

Jack was adopted from a rescue charity. I was told that he had been kept alone in his cage for a year after his previous owner separated him from his cage mate due to hormonal aggression. He hated being handled and, during his first month in our home earlier this year, bit me multiple times because he didn’t like being touched.

This is Jack now 🥹 He’s the cuddliest rat in the entire pack, and I just wanted to share with you all how adorable he is❤️
