Please spam the comments with pics of your rats!

I just rehomed my last rat because I decided not to get any more and am feeling a little sad. Please spam the comments with the best pictures of your ratties! I love looking at the little beings :) Ft. a picture of my last boy.

So easy, but why???

She refused the medicine mixed in yoghurt, then I found out she just wants to have the medicine straight from the syringe. I don't know why she even prefers it this way, but it is very easy

Seeing rats in movies is a whole different experience as a rat owner

I'm a big horror movie fan and they often try to use rats as the "aaahhh oh no scary!" kind of thing in some movies. You all know the tropes, I'm sure. It never really affected me before but now I actively find them adorable when they're meant to be scary. And they're always female! Guessing no one wants to see the lads and their big bols.

For example, I just watched the recent Nosferatu movie and there was a scene with rats on someone's body. Rather than being creepy I just noticed them all sniffing and being curious with their little heads bobbing. I felt similar about some scenes in Terrifier 3 but I'm not gonna go into THAT movie in this sub..

Anyone else here have similar experiences?

ls there anything more perfect than a sleepy little baby?

Casper and Mochi are both feeling better, and we are hopeful they will recover fully.
Tate is still doing alright. He's in oxygen, but never got as ill as the others. Nico, our personal boy, has been steady, but we haven't seen clear signs of improvement yet.
We haven't had to start any other rats on new meds in the past few days, so we are hoping the worst is behind us. Since SDAV infections can persist for 6-8 weeks, we still have a long way to go until we can say we are in the clear, but we are hopeful we are past the critical period and most everyone should be on the mend soon.

Now the biggest concern is Hot Pocket's mass. So far we have not seen a response to the antibiotics, but the SDAV makes surgery very risky. If she declines any, it may force our hand. The longer we can wait, the safer it is for her.

We are about half way to our $2400
matching donation goal! Can you help us achieve it?

Hazel the glutonous beast

She literally dove straight into the bowl of porridge just to inhale every bit of it and leave none for the rest

But mummy dirty. I clean mummy? I help?

Pocket is very concerned about my cleanliness and groomed my feet so enthusiastically he made them bleed, but when I squeaked he graciously switched to giving me a gentle, nibbly ratticure.

Appreciation post (caption)

I obviously love my rats, but I also love when other people appreciate them as well and are genuinely interested in my little babies!

It's very rare to find good rat communities, where people comment, show appreciation, ask questions! But this group is truly all the amazing things.

As a multi disabled person, who has daily struggles and challenges. This group has been such a light in my otherwise hard everyday life. Whenever I'm feeling like life is a little to unfair, or feel just a little to lonely. I post my rats in here, and it never fails to make my day better when I open the app an hour later and I see people loving my babies just as much as i do ❤️

So thank you, the community and everyone in it! I don't know any of you, but you have all been such a positive part of my life, and I hope me posting my rats can give some of that light back to yall!

How long did your rats live until?

My two little boys just surpassed 2 years old. I’ve read a lot of stories from a few years ago where people’s rats pass away before 2 years old and rarely live till 3. So I’m just curious how things are these days with the rats being bred and their lifespans and health concerns that come with.

Does your rat enjoy aggressive kisses

My 6 Month old female rat Mousey is pure maniac, she has the craziest zoomies and whenever i play with here she nips at my beard until I give her overly aggressive kisses so she can roll on her back and play slap my face🤣
The rougher I play with her (as rough as acceptable for my little 250g cutiepie) the more fun she seems to have ( Bruxing and boggles like crazy)?
Is this normal behavior or do i have a maniac Rat😅

Nap time!

My boy Chomik just turned 2 and suddenly became very very cuddly! Is there a reason for this? I’m not complaining! Love him!
