Lord Stinkus and his recently adopted son

The baby is settling in very nicely now!! He is cuddling with my largest alpha rat Stinkus. Stinkus grooms him often.

update on this little guy

I recently posted that I am rescuing this dumbo male from another individual who had an accidental litter. Well, they sexed all the babies now, and it turns out - he is indeed the only male. His balls officially dropped.

I posted that this night be the case originally. Now, since he is confirmed to be the only male, I contacted one of the breeders I trust to see her available males. I am getting him 1-3 (likely 2) brothers from the breeder that will be essentially his exact age. I’ve already decided on one, check the second photo.

I’m not comfortable introducing him to my older males (3 months +) yet, so I figured I’d make sure to get him some adopted brothers his exact age to grow alongside with until they are cleared to do intros with my older guys.

Thanks for all of the comments and advice on the previous thread! I’m going to post more updates once everyone gets here this weekend!!

adopted this guy plus 5 of his bros yesterday, look at this doofus

So, you may have seen my last post about getting rats from a breeder who was trying to sell me a sick dwarf yesterday. That dwarf ended up passing sadly, and after the comments I was reading, I decided not to go with that breeder.

Instead, I found a group of 6 3 month old males looking to be rehomed. $150 rehoming fee later, and they are here! I’ve already had so many cute moments with them in the last day alone.

I move tomorrow- a short distance away, so I only have the bottom part of my DCN put together with a small amount of bedding and toys until I move into my new place tomorrow. They are actually all loving it so far. I feel like this was the right decision.

Two of the males are very shy, but I believe it’s only a matter of time until they come around. It’s knot day 2. Anyway, enjoy my boy’s video, still working on a name for him!
