McCHICKEN EAR UPDATE

If anyone remembers McChicken and her ear journey here’s the current status! She is 3.5 months and 30 pounds. Miss Mickey Chickey’s got some bigggg ol ears! The right is still holding strong on its straight up/reaching for other ear. The other is pretty floppy and typical now besides when it stands alert with the other. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Humane Society says she’s a border collie mix, what do you think,

My family and I just adopted this sweet girl!! We named her Barbara Jean because she came from a shelter in Alabama and thought she needs a southern ish name. The shelter said that the vets think she is a border collie mix but all I am seeing is maybe a more Malinois mix, just wondering what you might think she is mixed with?
We will be getting a DNA test done one her, and see what our vet thinks.

UPDATE: Thank you so much for everyone’s post ☺️. The advice has been really helpful and I am grateful that everyone took time to comment and help my family and I begin our journey at dog parents.

Barbara was spayed on Thursday at the Humane Society and was told that she needs to take it easy and rest for ( I think) at least a week or two weeks. I do have a vet appointment scheduled for tomorrow and will be asking the vet a ton of questions.

I do have a question for everyone here, did you find that one on one training work or do you like a group training more? And how do you go about picking the trainer that is best for you, I looked last night and I am not sure what to look for if that makes sense. We live in the Twin City area if anyone from Minnesota has any suggestions.

Again I hope you all understand how appreciative we are for everyone on her.
