So im currently classed as independent - i am 18, living on uni campus 4 hours away from home and I currently get some rent assistance (roughly ~$200 per fortnight) at the end of this year ill be moving into my friends house for 1-2 months - paying some rent but I won't formally be on the lease because her lease ends ~ 2 months after I move in. I can't go back and live w my parents for those months because of work placement - need 4 weeks of 38 hour weeks veterinary placement and the vets back home are small and aren't big enough to be able to take the amount of placement students that need to do placement.
After her lease ends we will be moving together in a bigger house - with her boyfriend as well (so theres 3 of us). So then I'll be paying enough for rent assistance once again.

My main question is will I keep my independence if im not formally on the lease? Also what would I put her house as (like temporary or like term.?). I don't work because of how difficult university is - I'm in vet tech trying to get into vet science so I need a 6.0+ gpa (DI-HD average), a lot of experience, 100% attendance and even then it's EXTREMELY competitive to get in.
I currently get $1075 per fortnight (total), without rent assistance I'd get roughly $850 per fortnight but if I loose that independence it drops significantly - to about $550-$650. It was incredibly difficult to get independence so what should I do?

So im a vet myself - I still consider myself relatively new to the field as I only graduated end of 2024, my parents dog (long hair miniature dachshund) is 11 years. Last time i visited home she had the cough (aka heart failure cough, lung fluid build up). Got her in for some scans + labs ect ect - confirmed my suspicions.
Now heres the tricky part; medication/treatment.
She has had low grade tracheal weakening/collapse for the past year. It sometimes causes coughing but it has never affected her (under grade 1). In her scans it showed the trachea had gotten weaker (grade 1-2). Which obviously can cause some coughing and other symptoms (for not vetmed imagine a vaccume hose with its rings). Now one things for certain she's going to stay on cardisure, its safe and rarely interacts with other drugs.

We've been trialling frusemide to help with the fluid build up - it has worked tremendously. But because of the stage of the tracheal collapse we now have to have a call on how we approach this.
It is risky to mix frusemide and inhaled corticosteroids, one is to support her trachea, the other acts as a diuretic. I have asked some vets at the other clinic near me and none of us can decide.

Some other key information; bloods came back wnl, she's on meloxicam but as meloxicam isn't great for dogs with heart conditions I may be swapping her over to librela - meloxicam was for her arthritis. She has had a benign heart murmur since she was young, she was a show dog so she has had 2 litters - now desexed. Second litter was a scheduled c-section. From that second litter she developed a small hernia caudal abdominal region. She had urinary stones a few years back - removed, put on royal canine urinary tract diet. She had a snake bite when she was younger - brown snake.

So now do you guys think we should continue on the frusemide or do you think we go to the corticosteroids? Do we focus on fluid build up or tracheal collapse. It's risky to use both at the same time - would only be achievable if we did IV frusemide and inhaled corticosteroids but thats not super realistic and still poses some risks.

5 vets and none of us can agree on anything 😅

I worked as a dog groomer for 7 years, worked in a boarding kennel for 18 years and I'm currently a veterinarian (graduated 2024), I've been on the wait list for this breeder for a few years now and she's announced the litter for the end of this year! I'll be getting a little girl as I prefer females from males. So anyways, does anyone have any advice? What are they like as puppies? What food do yall prefer? Anything that I should prepare for?

NOT MY PICTURE JUST A CUTIE PATOOTIE
