How cut chargebacks without destroying checkout conversion?
With CAC so high, chargebacks hurt twice as bad, i mean we lose the ad spend, product, shipping, and dispute fees.
Our main issue is friendly fraud ("unrecognized descriptor" or "item not received") rather than stolen cards. But every standard fix adds checkout friction (like forced 3DS) that tanks conversion rates.
We already use clear billing descriptors, automated tracking links, and basic AVS/CVC checks.
For those managing e-comm/subscriptions: What passive behind-the-scenes tweaks or post-purchase communication changes have helped lower disputes without dropping checkout completion?
