My first time here so apologies if this has been addressed. Does anyone else have an issue with lots of younger customers trying to use a photo of an ID on their phone? I don't know if this is a generational thing but we have a clearly posted sign stating that we require a physical ID or state ID app like LA wallet for Louisiana customers that have a scannable strip or QR code. Our policy for ID apps is we have to see them open it as well for further assurance as we have had kids try to show photos of an altered LA wallet screenshot before. Some of them appear to be over 21 but most are very young looking and almost certainly trying to pass off an altered photo of an ID. Does anyone anywhere actually accept photos of IDs? Its become so common I think it must work sometimes. The excuse is always that they forgot or lost their wallet. My theory is that these are occasionally legit cases of a lost wallet/ID but mostly kids trying to pass off altered photos as more often than not theyre very young looking.
