Anyone still joining GITAM Hyderabad?

Hey, is anyone here still planning to take admission in BBA Financial Markets at GITAM Hyderabad, or has recently taken admission?

I mainly want to know if students are still joining the program this late, and if there are others who are in the same situation as me.

If you’ve recently joined or are planning to join, please let me know!

Joining GITAM Hyd weeks late — will I regret it?

Hey guys, I’m planning to join GITAM Hyderabad for BBA in Financial Markets, but I’ll be joining quite late since classes have already started.

I’m a little worried about how things will be since I’ll be missing the initial weeks. How strict is GITAM with attendance for BBA FM? Will joining late cause any issues with my attendance or exams, and how difficult is it to catch up with the classes I’ve missed?

I’m also wondering about the social side of things. Since everyone has already been attending classes and probably made their friend groups, is it difficult to make friends when you join this late? Would love to hear from anyone who has joined GITAM late or knows someone who did.

One more thing — is it compulsory to bring parents/guardians with me for the admission/joining process? I’m 18+ and the travel to Hyderabad is quite long for me. I’d prefer to handle the process myself if possible rather than causing unnecessary trouble for my family. If anyone has recently gone through the joining process, please let me know.

Any advice from current GITAM Hyd students, especially BBA FM students, would be really helpful.

Thanks!

Need advice choosing between 2 colleges — Tier 1 BBA-FM vs Tier 2 BBA

I’m really confused between two colleges and would genuinely appreciate some advice from people who have been in a similar situation.

The first college is around 7 hours away from my hometown, in a Tier 2 city. I have two of my close friends already studying BBA there, so I know I’d have people around me and settling in would probably be much easier. The college is also pretty lenient with attendance, which is a plus. However, the academics and overall study environment there are not as good as the other college. I would be getting a regular/general BBA there, and the infrastructure and exposure are also comparatively weaker. On the positive side, the hostel gives me an AC room for roughly the same price as the hostel at the other college, and the overall cost would be around ₹3 lakh less.

The second college is in a Tier 1 city and is around 28 hours away from my hometown. The academics, infrastructure, exposure and overall environment seem considerably better. Instead of a general BBA, I would be getting BBA in Financial Markets, which seems more aligned with what I want to do long term since I’m interested in finance. However, it would cost me around ₹3 lakh more, and the hostel is non-AC for roughly the same price as the hostel at the first college.

There’s also a personal factor making this decision much harder. My girlfriend lives in the Tier 1 city. We’ve been together for around 7 months, but it’s a long-distance relationship and we have actually never met in person yet. This is also my first relationship. She is currently in her final year and is doing the same course, and she plans to work in that same city after graduating. So if I choose the Tier 1 college, I would potentially be living in the same city as her not just during college but possibly after graduation as well.

I know people will probably say “don’t choose your college for your girlfriend,” and I agree with that to an extent. I’m not trying to make a 3–4 year career decision solely because of her. But at the same time, I don’t think it’s realistic to completely ignore the fact that she is an important part of my life and that there is a possibility we could actually build our lives in the same city. Especially considering this is my first relationship and we’ve been together for 7 months without ever meeting because of the distance.

My dad is strongly leaning toward the Tier 2 college. He keeps telling me I should join that one because it’s closer to home, cheaper and more convenient. He says ultimately it’s my choice, but whenever I bring up the Tier 1 college, he gets kind of angry because of how far away it is. I understand his concerns, but it’s making the decision even harder because I don’t want to choose a college just because I’m afraid of disappointing him either.

So basically I’m stuck between a cheaper and more comfortable college where I’ll have my friends and be much closer to home, but with weaker academics, infrastructure and exposure and a general BBA, versus a more expensive college in a Tier 1 city with better academics, infrastructure and exposure, a BBA-FM degree and potentially better opportunities, but being 28 hours away from home and having a non-AC hostel.

My long-term goal is to build a career in finance, and I’m considering doing an MBA and possibly CFA later.

If you were in my position, which one would you choose?

How much of a difference would BBA-FM + a better college and Tier 1 city actually make compared to doing a general BBA from the cheaper college and building skills through internships, CFA, certifications, etc.?

And how much weight would you personally give to the relationship factor in this decision?

I’d especially appreciate honest opinions from people who have already done BBA or are working in finance. I’m genuinely confused and don’t want to make a decision that I’ll regret after 2–3 years.

Need honest advice: Best Italian medical schools for Non-EU students?

Hey everyone,

I’m a Non-EU student from India planning to apply for Medicine in Italy and I’m honestly feeling overwhelmed by the number of universities available.

I’ve been researching IMAT admissions, rankings, living costs, and student experiences, but the more I read, the more confused I get. Some people say rankings matter, others say clinical exposure and city life are more important

My priorities are:

  • Good Quality Education
  • Strong Clinical Exposure
  • Decent student life
  • Affordable cost of living
  • Friendly environment for international students (preferably Indians)

I’d love to hear from current students, graduates, or anyone familiar with Italian medical schools.

Which university would you choose if you were a Non-EU applicant applying today, and why?

Also, are there any universities that are underrated or any that you would avoid?

Any advice regarding preference lists for IMAT applications would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
