Flow to the back patiok

Flow to the back patiok

Hello we are doing remodel around kitchen and living room. What i consider lacking currently is the indoor outdoor feel to the house. We live in california and our back patio is lovely but currently it is a bit blocked by the garage. See my crappy drawing above.

I was wondering if anyone just added a supplemental door to the garden in the garage for easier access and connectedness. We are using garage as a gym ( yoga mats and excercise bike) + laundry + storage.

I am considering adding a patio door from garage to garden to feel a bit more open. Like when i walk into the garage, i will look at the garden through the door.

I am hesitating because it is redundant as there is already a door to the garden from the garage and we dont plan to convert garage into a living space. Is it stupid to add patio doors without converting the garage?

Thanks for your opinion.

Kitchen backslash. Slab or tile?

Hello, I would like to solicit opinions on this. What i emphasize on the kitchen is the functionality of the kitchen including the ease of maintenance. It seems that slab is preferred choice if the budget allows but there is another voice that tiles are timeless. Given that installing a full slab is a more recent thing, i wonder if this trend is gonna last. Why has this not been a mainstream in the past? Will people choose slab if they have unlimited money? Because people say grout maintenance is a tedious thing but i assume its easier to renew grout than exchanging the entire slab if bored. I love the look of tiles but leaning towards doing a slab for the ease of maintenance. I am worried that i might regret later because i am not super fan of natural stone look anyway.

Kitchen flow options

Hello, i am doing a kitchen remodel with 11 feet by 13 feet space and wonder what option would be better. The others are pretty straightforward except the location of fridge and peninsula direction. Which do you think flows better?
