Mastery #22 and #23 - Metal Slug (Neo Geo CD and PS1)

Mastery #22 and #23 - Metal Slug (Neo Geo CD and PS1)

The idea was to do all sets of the first Metal Slug but I just got tired of it. I was hoping it would be easier since I already beat it in 1CC a few years ago in the Steam version, that until I discovered that both versions (and I think Saturn as well) asks you to do so with no deaths at all. They give you infinite ammo for special weapons and you can keep whatever amount of granades you had between levels which makes it fun, but still, quite a challenge.

If I had to pick a set it would probably be the PS1 one, mostly because the controls are better, in NGCD the game has like an input lag or something like that that makes doing multiple inputs at the same time hard, I died a lot because Marco didn't want to jump while shooting. The sets are more or less the same so it's whatever from that aspect.

Good sets overall.

Mastery #21 - Tumblepop

It made me happy to find out that this game received a set a few months ago since I played it a lot when I was a kid.

It's not a big set, it has a few interesting challenges with the bosses and the 1CC cheevo which is not that bad, the game is a fair challenge most of the time and gives you a good amount of lives asides of the ones you start with.

Mastery #20 - Pokémon Sapphire

Not the most interesting set. It lacks the catch 'em all cheevo but it has the collect all 25 ribbons instead which is more or less the same grind. Most of the set (outside the progresion ones) is about buying stuff for the secret base and contest stuff.

Mastery #19 - Cadillacs and Dinosaurs

First game I ever played almost 20 years ago, so I'm really happy for finally having it in my masteries. Despite playing it more or less regulary for those 20 years I never finish it in 1CC before so it was still quite a challenge, I could already finish most of the game without dying but I had to put a few hours into practicing some of the hardest parts like Morgan, the Slisaurs (and the whole level that they are in), and the middle zone of Mines and Jungle level.

Other than that it was a good set except for the "Beat the Slisaurs with the club" cheevo, it's really hard to do and you have to do almost all the game again if you fail.

Mastery #18 - Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

Fun set, not to difficult but with an annoying cheevo here and there like finishing Assignment Ada without shooting o killing Krauser in 34 seconds in Separate Ways. But if you already did the PS2 set then this should be walk in the park since it's mostly the same but without the hardest challenges like No Merchant, knife only bosses or the break 50 necks with Hunk in mercenaries. It works wells as a middle point between the GameCube set and the PS2 one.

Mastery #17 - God of War II

Hard set. I was kinda scared of the No Upgrade run but it end up being quite fun to do, at least until the very end where it got quite tiring in some arenas. It did help a lot that I more or less know how the combat in the game works, I recommend watching a video explaining some of the its hidden details if you are planning to do the No Upgrade or the Titan run, it's nothing too complex but it helps as a guide of how you should take each fight on the higher difficulties.

Easy but fun set overall, with the only exception being getting an A-Rank in The 4th Survivor, you have to practice a lot and have good luck on top of that. If something the set can get a bit tiring since most of the challenges asks you to finish the game in one session, it tooks a little 1 hour and half to do so but still.
