Excited to join team Lincoln!
I've been a car nut for decades, always admired the old school Lincolns, and fell in love with the new Nautilus on the highway from the rare chance is see one! I started looking into jumping out of my 2020 Atlas cross sport into one, but quickly realized they're going for a pretty penny, especially for the hybrid that I was after!
I saw a lot of reference about the Aviator in all the videos and posts I was browsing, and started to realize it was much better for me; from the physical buttons go to the larger size overall.
I learned about the 630lb ft of torque and was immediately sold haha!
I'm just in the process of buying one now, and in Canada we only get 8 years of the maximum coverage, which puts me out of warranty one year before my financing finishes. This car sold for almost $120,000 new after tax, and I'm getting it at basically half of that now. 47,000 km of the odometer, and one year left of factory warranty.
I plan to extend to the maximum 8 years, and I'm currently deciding whether I'm going to try and go with Lincoln PremiumCare or Ensurall. (Anyone have experience with Ensurall?)
I finally took one for a test drive last night, and it was surprisingly smaller than my Atlas inside, everything from the steering wheel to the chairs, to how high I set even at the lowest seating position.
Within 10 minutes I was used to it, but the much firmer steering and the brake pedal being so far left... it was when heck of an adjustment.
I quickly learned that it doesn't have soft close doors and it doesn't show the little digital temperature readout on the center console, only on the screen, something I didn't gather from the videos I was watching as most of them were for the 2020 release. Also, the previous owner of course didn't include the charger, jerk! :D
I'm not sure when the vehicle was last turned on, but when the sales rep fired it up beside me I noticed a sound coming from underneath that I'm not used to in my current car. I don't know that V6TT at all, so I don't know if that's what I heard, or if I heard some sort of air suspension pump? Because the high vibrate battery was basically at 0%, it fired up the engine right away, and it may have just been oil making its way up to the lifters or something? Either way there was a definite noise then wasn't engine tick and actually sounded more like a sort of leaky flex pipe possibly?
Let me know if I'm crazy and it's just a normal to hear the suspension raising, or if it's just the cold engine idle of this engine? It was very windy, cold, and late, so I was more focused on getting into the car, rather than walking around it at the time.
I have a physical disability, muscular dystrophy, so it was very difficult to inspect anything anyway.
Pretty vague post, I'm just sharing my initial thoughts and experiences with some quick questions, hopefully I can add a picture or two of what I'm jumping into!
It's even got PPF across the whole front end!
