Following up Wall-e and Crouching Tiger, what are films that announce themselves as masterpieces from the get go.
Anyone want them to do a live action Korra series.
Unlike Avatar, Korra has room for improvement. Season 1 could be reworked to better lead into the other seasons. Season 2 could streamline through the lesser stuff.
Plus, Korra seasons are only 13 episodes so they wouldn’t need to cram as much.
Can someone explain the rules behind how and why toys freeze whenever a kids are around.
I assumed it the toys do it willingly but Toy Story 5 threw a wrinkle in. Granted it was a fun gag that addressed what someone would consider a plot hole with the original film. Funny as it was it raised more questions than answers.
So is it involuntary or only involuntary initially? How long does it take for toys to learn to control their freeze? Do all toys awaken believing they’re real or is it just a buzz thing?
Please explain.
What are movies where the press tours (ie interviews, talk shows, etc) were more entertaining than the film itself.
Listening to this week’s episode brought back fond memories of watching the film on DVD. It was one of the first ones our family bought as we were eager to try it out on our PlayStation and new TV with surround sound. Growing up on VHS, the two disc thing blew my mind.
It was also one of my first experiences listen to a commentary track. Even as a kid, I was really interested in behind the scenes of filmmaking. While my sibling was annoyed that people were talking over the movie, I was hanging on every word.
What are movies with plot points that should be front loaded but aren’t revealed until a ways in.
For context, Finding Nemo originally had the prologue interspersed throughout the film as a series of flashbacks. This was changed to make Marlin sympathetic from the get go. The idea was later repurposed for Finding Dory.
Thanks for keeping things Weird.
Finally watched some new favs including Witness and Master Commander. Gallipoli, Cars, and more are on the watchlist.
Following up Griffins appearance on Big Picture, what are movies that are dangling keys but they’re your keys.
In other words films that are nothing but fan service but it’s your kind of fan service.
What are some blank check auteur directors that you’d like to see make a studio film. One that clearly has mandated rules/guidelines that need to be fulfilled but is also unmistakable them (ie Guardians, Black Panther).
Directors that while interesting might benefit from being reigned in executing someone else’s vision instead of their own.
Perfect Film, Perfect Guest, Perfect Episode
Percy: Hi I’m Percy, I think you two might be half bloods.
Nico and Bianca: Yeah we put that together. Were the kids of Hades. We’ve been living in the Lotus Casino for ages.
Annabeth: Wanna dance Percy while discussing anything but architecture.
Percy: Sure but remember we need to talk as flat and dully as possible. It’s more romantic that way.
Following up this weeks episode, what are stories Griffin has mentioned on this and/or other pods at least 5 times.
Pulling inspiration from Seans’s podcast, build a farm using characters from film.
What animals do you want on your farm? How equipped are they to solve a mystery should tragedy strike?
After Secret Wars comes out, I’d like to see an episode ranking the performances across the Multiverse saga. It would allow the pod to cover most of the films without having to devote countless episodes to them.
Plus, we’d get more Red Hulk talk which is never a bad thing.
Weirs filmography rules! Sorry it took this long for him to finally get covered.
Really enjoying this series. Weir has made so many great films across so many genres and styles.
Because of this I feel rankings will vary significantly. I’m genuinely curious to see how everyone places the different films.
