This dude was on my carport this evening. Any idea what it is?

This is my oldest fish, a blind cave tetra, around 7-8 years old. Woke up yesterday & this was hanging out of him??

Waited 24 hours to see if it was a weird poop, but it's still there, & now I'm worried it's something urgent/dangerous.

Be cool if it was just 💩, but I'm not very hopeful because it looks so odd. Been keeping fish 15 years & never seen anything like this
