Starting the party in a prison cell? EotE Beginner Game
Hello! I am hoping to start some players on EotE beginner game soon, but I'm not using the pregen characters so I'd like to do a slower start than the book offers so we have time to introduce their characters. Has anyone started their party in a prison cell before? I'm thinking I'll give them an easy chance to figure out obligation (like why they're in prison) and break out of some cells before they take to the streets of Mos Shuuta.
I want to offer a few easy ways out of the situation, but make the players ask some questions in order to break out. The bars are loose enough to bend, the guard is easily outsmarted or convinced, there is a hiding place in the cell, or the keys are on a ring across the room. Maybe there is even an NPC in the next cell over who can give some background info.
Once they escape, someone sounds the alarm (maybe a guard or the other prisoner?) and we progress to the original start of the module in the cantina.
Does this make sense? Would you do something differently?
