Trails I’m taking off my List

Living Room - The German War Heroes isn’t good enough once you reach it. Needs more.

Hidden Valley Park to Bonneville Shoreline Suspension bridge - Has a rock that looks like a dragon, but isn’t a difficult trail and there are many points at which you could be possibly winding through trees.

Trails I want to look at still

- Anything in the American Fork Region
- Anything next to a temple
- Coyote Hollow Crescent Street / Coyote Hollow Trail
- Some trails in Farmington / Adam’s Trail
- Sawmill Trail near Hidden Valley Park

Theories I like and have the most weight
- Alcatraz / Antelope Island
- Films Theme
- Kennecot Mine being the “moon”

Any remarks from others??

Thinking…

This isn’t so much a theory as much as it is a brainstorm session with you all…

What if this is a mirror to the poem from last year? There are a lot of corresponding things. Music at the beginning, fantasy/pop culture reference at the end.
- The Highwayman Song by the Highwaymen is my main source for this theory. A song about reincarnation, speaks of a sailor, a highwayman, a starship rider, and a dam builder.
- “Glance to the west” both literal and metaphorical. Like, investigate western culture or history?
- Sailor? Schooner, sailed across the Horn of Mexico. These are lyrics to the song.
- A schooner was also a covered carriage for pioneers

Is “the moon on its side” Kennecott Mine, and is “Rock” a shorthand for the Rocky Mountains??
- Kennecott looks like the surface of the moon.
- The mountains on the west side of the valley look like the Rocky Mountains but aren’t quite. They mirror the east side mountains with a moon on its side.
- Twin Peaks falls in line with Kennecott
- Double items, two meanings. Mirrored trails maybe?

“Moon on its side”
- Lake reflecting the moon maybe?
- Rock music Dust in the Wind Album Cover by Kansas? Has a moon on its side, a waterfall creating wind, a galleon sailing off the waterfall, a dragon surrounding the picture, is a rock album.

“Rock”
- Rock Canyon in Provo. On the map there is an outcropping of a trail that has the look of a dragon?
- Rocky Mouth Trail, close to last year’s trail and has some interesting features, like a small cave, a bridge with seemingly wooden guard faces, a long walkway, and a steeper trail, relatively open for wind, has a waterfall.

Aragorn?
- Fantasy stuff is fun. Aragorn pays his respect to the ancestors of Numinor before the waterfall that goes off the cliffs edge. “knelt to stone”
- Is the wind referring to a waterfall?

Going early, for why??
- Little tree cover
- Snakes come out to sun bathe midday
- See the moon
- throwaway line
