Fun Photography Club

Hi everyone, I was wondering if there would be any interest for having a fun photography club.

The idea is going around the city in a laid back manner and capturing moments that only you can see. Everyone can perceive the world, but that given instance exists in the way that it exists because you decide to define it as such. It wouldn't be seen as the same instance without you, the photography here is just a medium for expressing yourself.

SLR, mirrorless, iPhone, potato, etc. any kind of device would work as long as you're able to get an image out of it. Age, gender, favorite Pokémon, etc. does not matter at all. Open to all as long as you are nice to people. Also language does not matter, j'écris en anglais parce que reddit, but you don't even need to speak if you don't want. All is good as long as you're having fun.

To make things interesting, for each meeting we will define a specific theme. e.g. "summer" to keep the explanation simple. What does it mean to you, what do you make of it in the environment that you're in, in that given time and space. What do you see? Give an impression, make a transition to a memory you have, be romantic, be epic, go describe the summer in all planets, it is all on you. Put an effort and tell something.

And for each meeting you will have only a "roll" of 36 shots, i.e. no retakes, you will press the button 36 times and that is it. This is just a nudge to emerge the creativity by making you commit to your shot and making them count. You can do some basic editing in post to make it closer to how you've seen it to overcome the limitations of the device. Exposure, contrast, white balance, etc. Or leave it as is, no rules, up to you. You can give titles to your shots, or number them as you want, or leave it completely unnamed, up to you.

At the end of it we will share the "rolls" with each other and collectively pick the 36 shots of the trip. Everyone would pick the images that they like and that would be our trip roll. Depending on the demand I'll create a Discord group to organise all this and we can even print our little colour zines maybe.

Mainly Nancy centre, but we can organise trips to nearby places if there's interest.

I won't be reposting this message, so as long as you see it feel free to send a message.
