Learning procedure after battery disconnect

Hey yall,

after the heatwave I wanted to check the fan fuse as my boat ran pretty hot. After mindlessly pulling fuses, the idle was super rough and took a few swings to settle to a stable rpm, including dipping to 500.

So I tried disconnecting the battery to reset everything and start fresh. Still not good after a few days.

But I noticed an issue with my positive battery post as the last guy bent it while tightening (it was me...). Couldn't be tightened any more but still was loose enough to pull up with your fingers.

I fortunately have had the opportunity to crimp a new terminal at work. After which I remembered there is a thing to do after the ecu reset.

Ignition on, pressing the gas pedal fully and coming off fully three times.

That teaches the throttle body its positions.

That was it, significant improvement right away with only a little rpm swinging.
