What bucket seats have tall folk installed?

I did the lowering seat mod. I still just touch the roof normally and very much do with a helmet on (have car helmet too, just grabbed Mx helmet as it was closer).

Now looking for something even lower but looks like I might be too longer for the shoulder straps

I'm fucking in love with this thing

Bought an 08 two weeks ago. It needs new suspension so it can safely make it over speed bumps, and yet this evening I gave up a gym session to just spend an hour driving it.

The base joy I feel at the wheel of this machine is beyond even what I expected. I can't believe I have the privilege of owning this 18 year old rusty car

Trombone cleaner my ass.

Oops that didn’t sound right. My 2006 had a literal inch of water in it after the last storm. Bought a trombone cleaner and it’s too clogged, just bends. Fast forward two hours later had to use a piece of electrical wire to push the crap out. Keep those drains clean.

Missing trunk opening switch.

Hello all.

I'm the new owner of a 2011 MX-5 GT. I just got it last week.

I've noticed that I'm missing the button that lets you open the trunk from outside the car. I looked online, but I cant seem to find the replacement part anywhere.

Would, by any chance, any on eof you ever needed to order that part and owuld you have a link to where I could find it?

Thank you.

Garage Vary Type 1 Spoiler is the Move

Replaced the little bit gaudy Carbon Miata ducktail spoiler with a more subtle Garage Vary type 1. Even went through the process of a backyard paint job and came out really nice! Slightly darker under certain light but matches about 90% otherwise. Front appearance package next!

1.8 GWR headers in the canyons

Got to test out the newly acquired GWR 1.8 Max Power headers, Racing Beat catless non-resonated midpipe, and custom dual tip center exit exhaust in the mountains. Definitely needs a tune but the car feels great. Would love a Fab9 Elite manifold intake in the future.

2015 Miata Club automatic is it a good price?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking at a 2015 MX-5 Miata Club PRHT automatic with 77k miles.

The seller says he is the original owner, the car has been garage kept, and he has the original dealer paperwork.

Known issues:

-Some suspension bushings need to be replaced.

-Gas cap sometimes does not seal and turns on the check engine light. Seller says the code points to that.

He originally wanted $16,500, but I’m thinking closer to $15,000.

Is $15,000 a fair price for this car? Anything specific I should check before buying?

Worth jumping on an Öhlins deal if I'm worried about rear travel on rough touge roads?

Hey everyone,

Looking for some advice on updating my NC suspension. I’m currently on the stock Bilsteins, which have about 150k km on them and are over 12 years old. They actually still hold up okay, but honestly, they’re due for retirement any day now.

I just got a really solid offer from a reputable shop for an Öhlins Road & Track installation. They have a kit in stock they want to move, so they quoted me €3,000 completely installed and dialed in.

My original plan was to go with Tein Flex Z or MeisterR. But by the time I import them and pay for installation here in Europe, I’m looking at around €1.8k to €2.2k anyway. At that point, the Öhlins seem like way better value for the money.
My absolute dream would be Xidas, but getting them into Europe is a nightmare. Just the coilovers alone would put me over €3.5k before even thinking about installation.

Here is my main hesitation though. I’ve spent hours reading reviews, and there is a pretty consistent complaint that the Öhlins kit has too short of a rear travel, causing it to bottom out on bad roads when you really push it.
I use the car strictly on the street as a weekend toy for touge-style driving.
The mountain roads around here are a mixed bag. Sometimes they're perfectly smooth, but sometimes they are absolutely horrendous. I need a setup where I don't have to constantly lift off or back down the moment the tarmac gets rough. I want to be able to keep pushing and actually enjoy the drive.
For those of you running Öhlins on bumpy backroads, how bad is the bottoming out issue in reality? Is it a dealbreaker for rough B-roads, or is the overall quality worth the compromise at €3k?

Anyone have stock Bose NC speakers they don’t need?

Sorry if this kind of post is not allowed.

Does anyone have stock Bose NC speakers they do not need anymore? My current speakers are blown, and I’d rather go back to stock Bose than keep the bad aftermarket ones currently in the car.

I’m tight on money right now, so I’m not looking to upgrade the whole system. If anyone has a set, I’d be happy to pay for shipping.

Thanks!

My mods so far

I just finished what I wanted for my Miata's exterior and interior.

The full list of mods is here.

I'd like to have good coilovers as well so I can lower the car a little bit.

Almost all mods I've done myself.

I'm curious guys what you like and what you don't. What wold you add/remove?

I try to keep the OEM+ look of my Miata (its original Competition Yellow color is already a great highlight), but add some touches that make the car really mine.

Thanks!

phone mount

This is a two-part phone mount. The anchoring base is from Pro Clips, and the phone magnet is from Peak Design. I’ve been using this for about two years now, and it hasn’t failed me. I wanted to share this with our growing community because this particular mount doesn’t block any of the air vents.

Induction/intake worth it?

All my searching tells me it's basically cosmetic.

But found this HKS intake that I'm thinking about getting.

Anyone got experience with this or one of those intake Auto Exe boxes ?

For Sale New, Unopened, Silicone Hose Kits For NC MX-5 Miata

I am including both the HPS Performance Radiator Coolant Hose kit and the Heater Coolant Hose kit. Both new unopened. As you can see from the pictures, they sell for just over $400 if you buy both, I am selling both for $300 (I accidentally got 2 of each kit and couldn’t return them). Full description below.

Pick up in Orlando area, otherwise I’ll include shipping (continental US only). If you’re outside the US, buyer pays shipping.

DESCRIPTION
HPS high temperature 3-ply reinforced silicone radiator hose kit and heat hose kit.

Radiator Coolant Hose kit - 9 piece set replaces all of the hoses that connect to the radiator and the coolant expansion tank with high-heat resistance material which meets or exceeds OE specifications.
*AND*
Heater Coolant Hose kit - 4 piece kit replaces stock OEM rubber heater coolant hoses that go to/from the heater core with high-heat resistance material which meets or exceeds OE specifications.

Fits 2006-2015 MX5 NC

No Hassle Performance Upgrade
- Ideal replacement or upgrade for OEM or aftermarket parts.
- The premium grade high-heat resistance 3-ply reinforced silicone hoses are made with correct bends and curves to ensure a perfect fitment.
- Includes 100% stainless steel non-perforated embossed hose clamps for easy installation, which do not cut through the silicone hoses.
- Prevent and fix the coolant leaking and engine over heating problem caused by cracked, damaged or collapsed OEM radiator hoses.
- Race proven design with long lasting quality and engineered for extremely high temperature service and prolonged exposure to under-hood and coolant heat.
- Maximum temperature rating: 350F.

These kits do NOT replace every hose in the engine bay that carries coolant. These RADIATOR hose kits replace all hoses that connect to the radiator and the coolant expansion tank. There are a few other hoses in the engine bay that carry coolant but do not connect to either the radiator or the expansion tank and those are not addressed in this kit. Even with these the Heater Coolant Hose Kit by HPS which replaces the four hoses going to/from the heater core, there will still be a couple smaller coolant hoses in the engine bay that don't interact with any of those items that are not addressed. We do not know of any silicone hose maker that makes those few hoses.

*Edited to add location*
