I’m a beginner hiker and I want to get out and explore some of North Carolina starting with Pisgah National Forest cause some of the trails seem awesome and beginner friendly. I’m a bit worried about the snakes though, since I’m unfamiliar with that part of the state and I’m scared I’ll step on one during a hike. Anyone frequent these areas and can say how frequent snake encounters usually are in the summer? Or any tips to avoid the snakes in general? I’m mostly so worried because I plan to do some of these hikes by myself.
