Stupid sitcom helped me with my sexuality
Meal is a delicious bacon sandwich with mediocre crisps.
To begin, I have NO idea if I’m too young to be posting here (m14) so sorry in advance.
For the last year and a bit I’ve wrestled with my identity as a bi person, I went in and out of denial and struggling with the sudden pressure I put on myself. My parents aren’t homophobes, half my friends are lgbt+ and the family I’ve told have been fine (I haven’t told my grandparents because some of them are pretty old fashioned and in one case racist.) but I still felt like something was wrong with me and I just felt off with who I am.
Then I watched the It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia episode, ‘Mac finds his pride’ where it ends with a dance that symbolises everything I was worried about, at least in my eyes. And I know it sounds so stupid that a show where a homeless man makes out with a dog under the influence of PCP can help me understand myself more but here we are. I’m still far from completely comfortable with this but every time I watch that episode it fills me with hope.
My bacon sandwich was delicious, so so good. Like I cannot even to BEGIN how nice it was to cook and eat.
