Another “sounds like” situation

We just got out of the pro shot. We saw the show live a few years ago. Both were really entertaining. And nearly all the songs have multiple references and ties to pop singers. There is one segment that I can’t place and it’s annoying the hell out me.

There is a melody in “No Way” that I can’t place.

“You must think that I’m crazy, you want to replace me”

I’ve heard that melody before. And it’s bugging the hell out of me. I can’t place the genre or singer or voice. Just that melody during that specific set of lines.

Somebody help!

Zach

I know it isn’t really up for debate but if anybody questioned who Zava is modeled after, you only have to watch 20 minutes of the World Cup pregame show with Thierry Henry, Lalas, and Zlatan to figure it out. It’s so funny.

*Zava. Smh. Stupid auto correct.

Rewatching the show and forgot the random silly nature of the week by week stories.

So watching the show for the first time since it aired and I forgot how random the episode to episode story lines could be. We are on the season three episode where Ross has wound up running with the local street racing crew. A big happening in Smallville never mentioned before. So many of these episodes contain random major stories that had never been mentioned before nor after.

I feel like it gets more serialized later in the show and less “monster of the week” type story telling. But it’s been a while since I’ve seen it.

Just random thoughts.

Kal-El destiny on Earth

Forgive me if this is a question that comes up here often. I did a search and didn’t find anything and can’t seem to get any FAQ section to pull up on mobile.

The most recent Superman film included the idea that Kal-El was sent to rule over Earth. When I first watched it I thought that was new concept to me. I didn’t remember picking up on that before.

Since then, my daughter and I have gone back and starting watching Smallville. They include the “rule over Earth” concept in the story. I hadn’t seen the show since it originally aired and was surprised to hear that story line included.

Was Smallville the first time that concept was introduced? I definitely don’t remember it from any of the earlier films but I could be mistaken. I did a quick Google search and it says the story line was from Smallville but that isn’t always the most reliable source.

Was there any other earlier mention that Jor-El sent Kal-El to rule over Earth?
