Something Nice Back Home

First off. This is an egregiously underrated episode.

Second. I loved seeing Jack and Kate genuinely happy together (I wish we could have seen more of it)

Third. It was refreshing to see Jack enjoying his fatherhood role with Aaron. He seemed really happy with the little mundane acts of familial domesticity. Whether it was reading bedtime stories to Aaron or feeding Aaron breakfast.

HURLEY: What'd you do today?

JACK: What did I do today? I, uh... [sighs] I woke up, took a shower. Uh, Kate and I fed the baby.

HURLEY: I thought you didn't want anything to do with Aaron.

JACK: I changed my mind after the trial.

HURLEY: Living with Kate... taking care of Aaron... it all seems so perfect... just like heaven.

JACK: Just because I'm happy doesn't mean that this isn't real, Hurley.

HURLEY: I was happy too, Jack... for a while, anyway. Then I saw Charlie. [Jack looks rather flabbergasted] He likes to sit with me on the bench out on the front lawn. It's pretty cool, actually.

I believe Jack wanted to be a father, but only if he could be a good father.

The Ending couples

After a few rewatches I am convinced that one of the reasons Kate and Sawyer end up alone and lost Jack and Juliet is because they themselves caused the destruction or played a part in harming other romantic relationships. Whether it was Sawyer using Cassidy and starting affairs with married women or Kate accidentally contributing to the death of her first love, Tom, who was married or marrying and abandoning Kevin while she was a fugitive.

It does seem like their karmic endgame is to be alone romantically. It is evident that neither go on to experience the deep love they had shared with Jack and Juliet .

Jack's LYING 🤣 Jack was actually checking Kate out 🤭

I love these two. I also love how into Jack Kate was. A lot of good times in Lost (Photo Credit to Lost.fandom/IG)

Whatever Happened, Happened. Kate talks ♥️

So, one little observation here. Kate is SOOOO still IN LOVE Jack 😍 lol. IYKYK 😉

>JULIET: This might hurt for a second. [Sticking Kate with the needle as Kate looks away.] Good. [Rips tape] Very brave. [Kate smiles.] So James told me that Jack wouldn't help, but he didn't say why. [Securing the needle with tape.] 🤔
KATE: If I understood why Jack does what he does, I sure as hell wouldn't be sitting here. 🤭
JULIET: Off island, did something happen with you two? [Removing her gloves] 😱
KATE: We were engaged. Does that count? 😭

Anyone else wish Kate and Juliet could have become friends? ☺️

Jack, Kate and Diane

I promised I would post about this scene for someone in the group. I enjoy the little reveal here from Kate. She shared a fond memory of her mother with Jack, which is not something she does often. My theory is that this memory goes back to when her mother and Sam >!(her non-bio dad) !<were married and Kate was happy and got to probably travel because her dad was in the military. Jack and Sawyer moment

Lost was brilliant at creating these small, funny scenes. Even after all of Sawyer's PITA behavior, Jack, Kate and Sayid still went out of their way to help him. I also just really enjoy these soft moments between Jack and Sawyer. (Photo Credit to Losties23 on Instagram)

Lovely edit made by Hardcore Spinal Protector u/EricaDeeStallion

I was so happy to see Jack and Kate end up together. They went through so much together, so their reunion was a HUGE payoff!
