How is Carney still considered the best to deal with Trump?

Is it just blatant tribalism? Carney was sold as the guy who could handle Trump, and he's just been handed loss after loss with no end in sight. More tariffs, caving on the DST, the bridge fiasco, etc. It's crazy to me that Trudeau was actually somehow better at dealing with Trump.

The perception of Carney does not line up at all with reality, what gives?

Carney was elected on the basis that he could best handle Trump...how's that working out so far?

We are getting tariff'd out the wazoo even after bending over for the orange menace on the Ambassador Bridge. Help me understand the 4D chess, because I don't see it.
