H16 delam and options

Let me start by saying a couple things
1- I’m aware of the screw and glue route
2- I’m not looking for the cheapest or quickest option. This boat has been in the family for 50 years now and has a hull number of 2499.

I would like to do the best resto possible so it lasts another couple generations. Given the option of a brand new boat or this one, even at the same cost, I’d choose mine. Stupidly, yes, but you can’t get the past back once it’s gone.

I have a couple spots of deformation on the sides of the hulls and development of soft spots. Is it realistic to split the hulls, rebuild them top and bottom, and then rebond them with structural epoxy? I don’t need to race it, I just want it to work with 1-2 people on it.

I’ve done carbon fiber repairs and building bicycles before, but not specifically fiberglass or boats.

Thanks for any advice.
