Bathroom reno works - dos and donts

In the process of overhauling my bathrooms, seems small but so many things and factors to consider.
Just before I sign with the contractor, can someone who is experienced share what you could have done better and what you did right, especially if you have some experience in bathtubs.

Portable bathtub - thoughts from existing users please

Hey guys

I'm in the process of overhauling my bathroom. I currently have a separate bathtub and a tight shower space.

While I really like my current built in bathtub, I'm not confident of keeping it clean and mould free down the years. I'm from Singapore, so homeowners dont really care for a bathtub if I wanna sell the house, so it's not an issue for resale value on my property. Bathtubs are not a norm here.

I'm really toying with the idea of foldable bathtub for my new bathroom, anyone has experience to share? Other than easy maintenance, I can have a larger shower space too. Please share with me your experience, if U are currently a user of a portable bathtub.

I also have thoughts of integrating my shower into my bathtub too. But if I frequently do showers in my bathtub, it also means increasing moisture and make it even harder to clean than it already is?

Portable bathtub - anyone?

Hey guys

I'm in the process of overhauling my bathroom. While I really like my current built in bathtub, I'm not confident of keeping it clean and mould free down the years. Gaps between the silicon and bathtub

How do we prevent the silicon from coming off from the sides of the bathtub? What happened when the water gets in the gap in the long run?

Ventilation fan options

One is a ceiling mounted fan, the other is mounted on the window. I prefer the one on ceiling for aesthetic reasons, but I was told it's hard to clean. The fan mounted on the window is a lot easier for maintenance. Any tips to share?

I see most people on Reddit here using ceiling ventilation fan though.

Bathtub questions

My current bathtub is generally maintained okay except for this part that always have mould. I suspect because the water holds onto the spot. Any tips to share to keep a bathtub mould free? Bathroom is well ventilated.

I m also going to redo my bathroom, and thinking of removing my separate shower area and integrate into my alcove bathtub instead. I have another bathroom that has a separate shower area though.

My question is, does the frequency of a shower in the bathtub will increase mould growth due to increase in moisture from the showers? Because currently our bathtub are purely only for baths, and I probably only use twice a month.

Not sure if it's a dumb question. Appreciate any inputs.

Bathtub and bathroom tiles options?

Gonna tear down 2 bathrooms and redo it.

Please share some inputs on the below:

1.

Bathtub - acrylic or cast iron better?
In the event of future patching when there s cracks, which one makes more sense?

2.

Wall tiles - ceramic better because its easier on drilling?
Floor tiles - porcelain better because its more durable?
What about homogenous tiles?

3.

LED mirror lights - what do you think? Nice, but is it practical?

Any other bathroom reno tips, especially on the bathtub maintenance are welcome.

Thanks guys
