Looking for art friends

Hi!

I'm a 27F and I'm looking for one or multiple art buddies around my age with whom I could talk about art with. 🎨

I don't really like discord unfortunately, I just wanted some people we can help and motivate each other with but I'm not sure if I'm looking for group chat.

Even though I don't have much time to create, I'd love to talk about art and reignite my desire to create a little more each day.

I can definitely offer advice if needed too! I'd really love to discover other artists' perspectives :)

A little about me:

I’m a watercolor artist, I'm an aspiring children books illustrator though I love all forms of art, especially traditional ones. I draw with pen and pencil and I’ve recently started using gouache and got an iPad with Procreate lately too! I've also dabbled a bit in animation. I also really enjoy manual crafts like crochet, knitting, and embroidery (in that order). I'm also into felt right now!

My main themes are mostly landscapes and nature; I’m trying my hand more and more at drawing people, but that’s not my specialty. However, I’d say my favorite audience is children!

I’d love to find someone with whom I could exchange ideas, push each other to improve, and share our respective experiences.

In general, I love culture and art history as well. I have a master’s degree in fine arts. I also enjoy reading and watching movies, and I like to take walks in nature whenever I can to find inspiration (though I have less time for that now).

To be more specific, I've always wanted to make art my career, but unfortunately I haven't been able to do it full-time. So I'm moving into early childhood education to combine the two.

I'm always curious about and impressed by people who try, and succeed, in making a living from their art!

Congratulations to everyone on your work, and good luck with your future projects 🌟

(I'm sorry if my post is long, thank you for reading!)

Looking for someone I can talk to about art 🎨

27F - Looking for interesting conversations and/or an art buddy

Hello!

I'm a 27F and first of all, I want to say that English is not my native language, most of the time I use translators or get by with my improving English.

I'm from France (on peut parler en français aussi, si jamais des Français tombent par là)

I'd love to talk to people around my age. I enjoy intellectual conversations, ones that spark reflection and ideas. I'd be really happy to connect with other women and make some friends. I often don’t get replies when I respond to posts by women, and I think that’s a shame because I truly believe we have so much to share and offer one another. That said, I’m interested in all kinds of exchanges.

Long messages don’t bother me at all, that's actually how I tend to write myself (as this post proves!)

I’m a watercolor artist, though I love all forms of art, especially traditional ones. I draw with pen and pencil and I’ve recently started using gouache. I also really enjoy manual crafts like crochet, knitting, and embroidery (in that order). I'm also into felt right now!

When it comes to culture, I’m curious about everything. I love reading (even though I wish I did it more often), and I tend to accumulate way too many books (oops). I love movies, I’ve been watching more of them lately and I’m glad about that, and I also enjoy TV series.

My boyfriend (26M) is a cinephine, we could definitely suggest tons of movies and talk about movies if that's something you're passionate about like us.

He's also looking for new friends and tried a lot on this sub but struggled finding people with similar interests, so I'd be really happy if he could also find friends through this post too, you'd get two friends for the price of one :)

I deeply love nature, and I try to go to the forest or a park whenever I can, it’s something that really helps me recharge, but as a whole I'm more of a homebody.

While describing myself, I realize these are things that could apply to many people, but I believe everyone has something unique about them, and that’s what I’d love to discover through conversation.

I’d be excited to learn new things by talking to people from all over the world. I really enjoy learning and I'm also really interested in psychology and sociology.

I think that's a good overview. I'm not looking for any NSFW content; I'm looking for platonic friendships. I'm not really into voice chat either, I prefer text-based conversations.

Looking forward to get to know you and good luck for everything 🌟
