Ruptured eardrum and Unicexal drops

Unicexal is an antibiotic in drop form. It is normally prescribed for external ear canal infections such as swimmers ears.

However there is no documentation pertinent to its use on ruptured eardrums and middle ear infections. It is neither recommended or unrecommended.

Has anyone prescribed unicexal on a patient with ruptured eardrum and middle ear infection?

When is one ready to embrace the dhamma?

Hi. Did the Buddha ever say that prior to embracing the dhamma or meditate, one had to take care of the basic needs/fix their lives first? I remember hearing about it in a dharma study but didnt take notes. Maybe I misremember. Thank you for your patience.

35mm 100mm f2 lense. What os the right price?

I have an evolt 500, had it since 2005. It take gorgeous pictures; so good that they require minimal editing if any.

I want to expand my lense compendium to wide aperture to delve into portrait photography, and came across the 35mm 100mm f2 lense priced at $650, on ebay. It is second hand and allegedly in great condition.

I understand it is a rare lense specifically and solely made for the legacy 4/3, but is the price justified given that 4/3 is obsolete? I am trying to haggle the price down to at least $500. The new Sony lenses for the a7r cameras are way cheaper.

Am I crazy for spending that much money on a 4/3 lense?

Macro vs Zoom in Portraiture

I am interested in portrait photography and wanted to know the difference between shooting portrait with a 105mm macro lense, vs a normal 105mm lense. It looks like there is none, is that correct? Thank you

Adapter for evolt 500

I have an evolt 500 (2006) and the legacy zuiko lenses dont have wide apertures. I know I need to get manual focus lenses and an adapter for the 4/3. Can anyone tell me the adapter and the lens brand?

Thank you!

An odd situation. Need feedback

Hi. Based in USA. Please read carefully before responding. ^_^

Several months ago, I was appointed treasurer at a regional branch of a large NFP, in NJ. This is a volunteer role; I'm not getting paid to be a treasurer.

It turns out that the OG treasurer is non responsive to the branch president's request of handing over the access to the branch's bank account.

As a treasurer I am supposed to prepare the financials and organize fundraisers, but it's impossible to collect donations without access to the bank. Also, without access to the transactions, I cannot prepare the required financial statements.

The last resort is to report this man to the state-level NFP to get him to grant me the access required to do my job, but the branch's president doesn't want to escalate.

This man has gone MIA for 6 months now. The story is that he has gone on paternal leave and hasn't been heard since then. He doesn't answer the phone, the emails, nothing. The entire team lives within the same county.

I do not have the contact information of this man, and do not even know his name. Even if I did have his contact, I wouldn't dare to reach out. I never met him.

Q: should I escalate to the state level offices of the NFP or should I just go with the flow?

This is not real, Right?

Hi. So I am attempting to study for the CPA, and occasionally I receive weird job inquiries such as this. The common themes are: horrible commute, very low pay, every day in the office, and CPA required/preferred. Litera AI was one of them, proposing me to commute everyday to Philadelphia for $80,000. They wanted the CPA license on top of that.

The jobs are located in the USA.

The only positive about this particular job (screenshots) is that it is fully remote...

When I receive these kinds of emails, my motivation to study for the CPA goes out the window.

Could someone help me find the right perspective? How do I motivate myself to complete the exams, when the jobs available are this bad? Are they an exception? I have been an accountant for 15 years.

Thank you so much. And sorry for the long post

Buddhism and the Supernatural

I wanted to share this Dharma talk with the community, since in a prior post there was a heated debate about how Buddhism deals with the supernatural.

It would be interesting to see everyone's opinion on this, without fighting each other out. @mods of course if this post is not allowed, please feel free to delete.

With metta. 🙏

Italy: Esim card for internet and calls

I am traveling to Italy this October and will be staying for a whole month. I need to be able to use data while moving around the country like I do in the USA, and be able to call the cops, in case of emergency.

Is there an esim that allows for calls and unlimited internet usage? What are your recommendations. I will be visiting places by car, so I need to be able to call for help in case of emergencies.

NJ single, no children

I was laid off Dec 2025 and have been unemployed since. I applied for Medicaid and got accepted.

I was automatically enrolled to Fidelis. However my primary care doctor accepts Horizon. So I asked to be changed to Horizon.

Two months later I get a letter saying that my HMO is Wellpoint. I never asked to be on wellpoint. I asked to be on Horizon and was confirmed that Horizon was my new HMO. So I call NJ family care, and ask to be put on Horizon. The agent on the phone confirms that I had requested Horizon since the beginning and doesnt know why I am getting anything but Horizon. So she puts a request for Horizon again.

Does anyone know why medicaid NJ is not fulfilling my request to be put on my preferred HMO?

It's been an ongoing battle. I haven't received any mail from Horizon and I keep on getting reassigned to other HMOs.

Lying for survival.

I have a gap in my resume that is preventing me in securing employment. It is the feedback given by recruiters. I needed to take a sabbatical in order to take care of my mental state. I suffer of depression and was in no condition to look for work.

Im now ready to reenter the job market but the gap is problematic. Most of the time my resume gets automatically rejected due to it (as per recruiters feedback). When I do get an interview (rarely) and disclose my struggle, it gets canned immediately.

One of the precepts is to not lie and according to Buddha's dialogue with Rahula, a person who deliberately lies there is no evel that the person cannot do.

I have rewritten my resume to cover the gap. If I dont get a job I will be homeless, but according to Buddhism I am evil for lying in order to survive. What should I do?

Edit: i am based in the USA and the general rule is that gaps are a kiss of death in a resume.

Edit 2: a bit disappointed that most are missing the detail that my resume gets automatically filtered out, due to the gap. But thank you all regardless.
