Yamaha P225 - am trying to get Ipad with a MIDI program to work. Still getting piano sounds mixed with MIDI
Yamaha P225 - am trying to get Ipad with a MIDI program to work. Still getting piano or other P225 sounds mixed with MIDI. Instead of Midi only.
I have been using Flowkey program with h no issues so Midi does work in my limited opinion at least in recognizing key presses and having the audio from the ipad (via flowkey) coming into the Yamaha and into the headphones plugged into piano. .
I did turn local control off and I still hear the piano sounds from the P225 with headphones plugged into the P225. If I turn it back on, it cuts off the Midi from lets Garage Band or Numa on the ipad and plays normally.
I turned the volume all the way down on the Yamaha as someone suggested on a post and hear nothing with or without headphones plugged in. I unplugged the headphones plugged into the Yamaha.
Perhaps this implementation of Midi on the P225 is not fully baked in.
On setting for Numa (after trying GarageBand with same result) I did select setting and Midi and selected P series.
There is no way for me to connect headphones to the ipad since the lightning port is used up and there is no headphone jack there.
The cable I am using is a MIDI/ printer type cable which is a USB B plugged into the keyboard and obviously the USB A into the ipad external camera adapter (as it is supposed to) . And power connected to this adapter too for the ipad .
I do know that the P225 does also have a 5 pin midi output cable but then I would have to get a converter to connect to Ipad. Now I of course have a PC (Windows) and could mess with this more, but rather just see what you experts say.
And if this keyboard does not allow proper use of midi with sound coming out of the headphones or speaks in the P225-that is ok. I am a beginner and taking lessons. So this is just me taking a break and playing around
Thank you so much
