14 years later, NosTale is breaking its live event hiatus at Gamescom 2026

Did anyone else see the official announcement? If I remember correctly, this marks the first time the official NosTale team has made a dedicated public appearance at a convention in exactly 14 years.

The last time they did anything like this was early in 2012 at the DeDeCo convention and the Leipzig Book Fair. Back then, attendees were handed custom mouse pads, codes for exclusive redeemable items, and what looks like physical PC CD game boxes of NosTale. After that, the physical footprint completely vanished.

Why is Gameforge suddenly breaking the 14-year hiatus to return to Cologne this August?

I just put together a full historical breakdown on our independent, community-backed boards to connect the dots between the massive Act 10 content expansions, the sudden surge in concurrent players from the temporary NosFire servers, and how Gameforge is riding the success wave of this dimensional saga straight onto the floor of Gamescom 2026.

If you want to read the full analysis and check out the old 2012 archival footage, you can read the thread on NosClassic here: NosTale heads to Gamescom 2026 for its first in-person meetup in 14 years | NosClassic

NosTale Pre-Alpha Key Visuals

I wanted to share a collection of key visuals produced by Hong Sung-wook (홍성욱) and the Entwell graphics team from the earliest days of development: a period I am defining as the "Nomad Era" (July 2004 - June 2005).

These images were the primary assets used to secure international interest before the game even had a public name. They represent the bridge between the developers' experience at Gravity (known for Ragnarok Online) and the casual RPG vision that eventually became NosTale.

I noticed several details in the equipment and landscapes that suggest a much more expansive and fantastic aesthetic than the version we eventually played.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on them!
