New insight into the tension the night JOK was killed?

Recently lawtubers have found foreclosure documents ref Chris Alberts home. Some of the documents are a little confusing, with Albert claims of exemption due to being in the military, etc...but one hard data point I know for sure:

The Alberts deeded their home at 7 Meadows Avenue away on Jan 12, 2022.

Why is this important? Well, I suspect this sale was done under duress, after threat of foreclosure. They'd lived there for 20 years, and even though they still had one (or maybe two) kids still in the house with them, they had to pack up all their belongings and move to a condo on Maple street, a quarter mile north of the pizza shop. They could have felt shame and public humiliation.

Now a run down of the sequence of events that night:

  1. Chris Albert texts JOK something like "get over here (Waterfall) or else I'll f up your lawn".
  2. JOK and KR arrive...JOK pokes Julie Albert in the shoulder and jokes that the neighborhood had a block party to celebrate their move.
  3. Julie Albert "gets a headach" and leaves 10-15 minutes after JOK arrives at the bar.

I think CA was genuinely joking with the "f up your lawn" text, and I think JOK was trying to match his energy with the block party quip. But I don't think Julie Albert thought the lawn feud was a joke at all. IIRC, she is the one who took delight in showing KR that JOK was "Nebbercracker" in her phone. So I don't think she appreciated the block party joke at all - they had to move out of the neighborhood, tail between their legs, just 3 weeks prior...and Mr "get off my lawn" is rubbing salt in the wound. So she's pissed off and leaves the bar!...Leaves CA there...which is interesting. Any man who has been married knows this uncomfortable situation - momma's not happy, she leaves to let you stew and wonder how upset she is, and she's practically daring him to choose between her and his fun night out with friends.

Could this have been a catalyst for a fight? Re-examining Higgins' gestures as he was leaving the bar - maybe he was genuinely inviting JOK to 34 Fairview, and the scene where CA grabs his arm...well, maybe that was a "knock it off, I DON'T WANT him there" move. Imagine Higgins over-hearing JM giving JOK directions and worrying that he was out of line extending the invitation - causing him to text "you coming here".

So lets take CA at his word that he walked home and didn't go to 34 Fairview. Well, Colin was at 34 Fairview, and probably asked where his parents were. IIRC, he stated he met BA and NA coming home from the bar. So what would happen if BA told him that JOK insulted his mom and now mom and dad were fighting over it? Would he just hop in the car with Allie McCabe?...or would he hang around and wait for JOK?

I really have a hard time believing this entire family circled their wagons to protect BH...because, well: he's not family. But that fella who ran away to join the military to avoid being questioned? He most certainly is family. Anyway just a theory as to what tension was bubbling that night, other than the BH jealousy theory.

Edit: Another thought - Colin texted Allie for a ride around 11:54. Why? What was his original plan? Had it been he would just ride home with his parents? By 11:54, had he learned that mom went home with a "headache", taking the car, and now dad was hoofing it home in the snow?

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan says his Tesla was on autopilot before crash

Kyle Shanahan said Saturday he thought his Tesla was in autopilot mode when he veered into oncoming traffic June 14, causing a crash that left the San Francisco 49ers coach with broken bones and a lingering concussion.

In his first podium appearance since the collision, Shanahan said the autopilot function apparently switched off when he tried to retrieve a fallen cell phone while traveling south on Alma Avenue in Palo Alto. The coach said he’s been using autopilot in some form for nine years.

“So I’m pretty comfortable with it and, you know, who knows what happened when I turned around — whether it malfunctioned or whether I knocked it off?” he said. “That’s something I don’t know yet.”

Tesla admits Cybertruck PCS defect, extends warranty to 8 years

Tesla has officially acknowledged that the power conversion system (PCS) in pre-2026 Cybertrucks is defective, and it’s extending the warranty on those trucks to 8 years or 150,000 miles.

The reversal comes after months of owners paying up to $7,200 to replace a part Tesla now admits “does not meet our reliability standards.” The automaker sneakily tried to let the clear manufacturing defect pass warranties.

SpaceX’s Terafab will rely on natural gas power plants, not Tesla solar panels

SpaceX said this week that it will build natural gas power plants to supply electricity to the Terafab semiconductor factory it plans to build in Texas, according to a report from Bloomberg.

Riley Trettel, who leads energy and data center development for SpaceX, said in a public meeting on Wednesday that his company will be “bringing our own power” for the project, which will also include “very large battery arrays.”

Notably absent from the Bloomberg report — and other SpaceX announcements related to Terafab — is any mention of terrestrial solar power for the facility. Tesla, which is also a solar developer, is a partner in the project.

Despite his investments in solar power, SpaceX and Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk has bet heavily on natural gas lately. The xAI data centers in Memphis run almost exclusively on the fossil fuel. Musk also recently bought a company that specializes in natural gas power plants, and SpaceX has said it plans to buy $2.8 billion worth of gas turbines over the next three years.

SpaceX, Tesla to Initially Spend $16.8 Billion on Terafab Chip Plant in Texas

Elon Musk’s SpaceX <SPCX.O> and Tesla <TSLA.O> will initially invest $16.8 billion to build Terafab, an advanced AI semiconductor complex in Grimes County, Texas, as the companies race to secure the chip capacity that the billionaire has called essential to their future.

The facility is intended at narrowing the gap between global chip supply and the more than 1 terawatt of computing power that SpaceX and Tesla expect to need in the coming years.

Musk has been tightening integration of AI efforts across his companies, with SpaceX acquiring his startup xAI earlier this year in a deal focused on building space-based data centers, before going public in June in the largest-ever IPO.

The vertically integrated, 100-million-square-foot Terafab plant will make, package and test advanced logic and memory chips under one roof, producing processors needed to power Tesla’s Optimus robots and Cybercabs, as well as high-power chips to run SpaceX’s space-based data centers.

A May filing showed SpaceX has proposed an initial investment of $55 billion to build the Terafab, with the total amount rising to $119 billion if extra phases are completed.

Hyundai, Kia, And Even Volvo Just Beat Tesla At The Game It Created

According to its website, Carla was one of the first used-car marketplaces to test and evaluate battery health before putting cars up for sale, giving it a remarkably diverse data set on degradation. Using that information, Carla looked at the batteries of 9,954 EVs during a four-year period using the global-standard AVILOO diagnostics system, and the online auto retailer discovered that after 10,000 Swedish miles (equivalent to 100,000 kilometers or 62,137 miles), many of the most popular makes and models had lost between five and eight percent of their original capacity.

The study also discovered that, on average, CATL LFP batteries retained more than 93 percent health, eclipsing LG Energy Solutions' lithium-ion pouch cells (91.5 percent) and Panasonic batteries (between 88.2 and 89.8 percent). The data set only included vehicles with a sufficient number of tests to reduce any outliers, although Carla didn't specify what that number was.

Amazingly, two of the cheapest, least sophisticated EVs on the market took home top honors in Carla's test. Coming in first was the battery-powered Niro, with 97.25 percent of its stated capacity remaining on the AVILOO test. The mechanically identical Hyundai Kona Electric followed close behind at 97.18 percent battery health.

Both Korean EVs use a liquid-cooled 64-kilowatt-hour battery (although newer model years also offered a 48.6-kWh standard-range variant), giving them roughly 260 miles of range in EPA testing. If Carla's numbers are accurate, Niro and Kona owners can still expect more than 250 miles on a full battery after 62,000 miles.

What is surprising is that no Tesla models broke into the top five in Carla's testing, odd considering the brand has been working on battery technology for literally decades and currently builds the best-selling EV in the world. The only one to crack into the top 10 in Carla's testing was the eighth-place Model 3 with the base 60.5-kilowatt-hour CATL battery found in most of the entry-level models sold in Europe. That variant retained 93.34 percent of its capacity, compared to 92.83 percent for the 78.8-kWh LG Chem battery found in the 12th-ranked Model 3 Long Range.

Nicholas Guarino Connection

I'm slowly discovering the overlaps between the JOK case and Sandra Birchmore's. The "IT Expert" who investigated Matthew Farwell's phone initially reported finding no communications between him and Sandra Birchmore - overlooking 33,000 texts between the two.

In the JOK case, he initially did not find the early morning "hos long" search on JM's phone. Samantha Benigno recently read a report by the defense expert (Richard Green) - I don't fully understand the intricacies if hash values, but Green found the hash value for JM's phone extraction to be exceptionally peculiar in a way he had never seen before in any case.

Is Nicholas Guarino just incompetent - as bad at IT as Trooper Paul is with physics? Or is he corrupt as hell.

The Ridiculous Tesla Yoke Disappeared, And Nobody Really Noticed, Or Cared

Tesla made quite a big deal out of its final Model S and Model X deliveries with a run of 350 invite-only Signature Series cars in May 2026. Buyers could also get excited about the white Alcántara, gold badging, and numbered dash plaque, and forget that they had to pay a five-figure premium over the previous, more "ordinary" cars. At the same time, Tesla made little mention of a feature that was making its last appearance. The steering yoke, fitted as standard on Model S and Model X cars, was quietly riding out of production, and many people were glad to see the back of it.

In 2025, Elon Musk had his eyes squarely fixed on his futuristic Optimus humanoid robots. He needed to clear the decks within some of his production facilities to focus on this kind of future and decided to give an "honorable discharge"—in his own words—to two Tesla models. This led to the company closing its order books for the Model X and Model S in April 2026, with roughly 600 cars in global inventory. Tesla then raised the prices on those survivors by $15,000, making the cheapest new Model S $109,990 and the costliest Model X close to $130,000.

In addition, Tesla promised its Signature Series as a proper send-off for both models. It would produce 250 Model S and 100 Model X in Plaid specification only, with the Model X in six-seat configuration exclusively. And each one of these cars had the controversial yoke, meaning that the very last S and X models shipped with that chopped-off steering wheel.

The yoke steering “wheel” arrived on the 2021 Model S and Model X as the only choice available. At the time, Elon Musk was adamant that Tesla would not provide a round wheel, although by early 2023 his company had made an about-face. The yoke was now a no-cost option, with the round wheel standard on both cars. Previous owners could also swap over to the round wheel if they paid a $700 retrofit charge through local service centers.

It is an indication of how the market regarded the yoke steering mechanism that this retrofit sold out within days. As it turned out, the yoke was part of quite a significant misstep by Tesla: when it introduced its 2021 Model S and Model X, those vehicles did not have any column stalks either. Tesla had migrated the turn signals, horn, lights, and wipers onto capacitive pads set into the hub, which did not go down well with the community. Eventually, Tesla would reintroduce mechanical horn versions for the yoke and the round wheel to try and reverse some of the criticism.

In the end, Tesla's actions reveal a great deal about its yoke steering wheel experiment. It started off with a feature that was compulsory before making it free. It then decided to make it an extra option at $250 before raising that surcharge to $1,000. Perhaps it was trying to deter people from choosing it, but either way, the yoke also had its own quality problems. Some owners reported that its rim material would peel off at mileage as low as 4,000.

.As time went by, Tesla started to quietly remove the yoke from its new car inventory. When the refreshed Model S and Model X came along in June 2025, they had revised suspension, a quieter cabin, a new front camera, and an additional $5,000 tag. But there was no sign of the yoke on the Long Range trims. Now, buyers could only get that option on Plaid models, and it still came at a $1,000 premium.

By mid-2025, Tesla was only offering the yoke on a single trim of a soon-to-be-canceled model line. Eventually, when production of that model line stopped in May 2026, the yoke was no more.

Timing of the House Pickup

I'm having a difficult time understanding the timeline, with the trio of people arriving to pick up Julie Nagel.

Per Ryan Nagel's text, at 12:23 the group arrives, right after KR arrives.

JM walks out of the house and has a 2 minute discussion with them, waving them off and telling them Julie changed her mind.

Jen walks in the house.

All three in the Nagel truck report KR just sitting in her SUV alone as they pull away.

12:27 JM texts JOK "Here?"

12:31 JM texts "Pull behind me?"

Am I missing something here, or shouldn't she have practically bumped into JOK in the yard? The trio reports KR's dome light was on, so JM surely would have seen her and known JOK was already "here". What is the explanation for this? How do they explain here not noticing an idling SUV 20 feet away from where she was standing?

So what is the theory - JOK was just hanging out in the front yard for 3-4 minutes, not interacting with KR and not making his presence known to JM?...KR waits for the Nagel group to pull away and JM to go inside...and then she pulls forward and does the Starsky and Hutch reverse?

I'm seeing a huge hole in this plot. Am I wrong?

NewsTesla Cybercab snags huge regulatory green light that readies it for public roads

Tesla Cybercab, the all-electric ride-hailing-geared vehicle void of a steering wheel and pedals, has achieved a significant regulatory milestone. The vehicle has officially secured an EPA Certificate of Conformity for the 2026 Cybercab, classifying it as a battery electric Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV).

This certification confirms full compliance with federal Clean Air Act emission standards, paving the way for legal sales and operation across the United States.

A Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is a critical document issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to vehicle manufacturers. It certifies that a specific class of vehicles meets all applicable federal emission requirements for the model year.

We have reported on several of them in the past, and it’s a good sign that a vehicle is close to being available to the public.

Question About Leafblower Blood

Something has always bothered me about the blood they collected. The prosecution's theory is JOK landed on the ground and split his head open when "there was enough snow to track a cat"...but they showed video of police using leaf blowers to expose blood that was on top of snow...in small spots.

Shouldn't there have been a massive amount of blood directly beneath JOK's head...right on the ground and not in the snow? Where did their occassional spots come from, and why were they perched higher up in the snow?

Is it possible that a combination of IVs and CPR could have pumped blood out of his body onto the snow? If so, that brings me to my next question: what would the evidentiary value be with blood cleary resulting from the life saving efforts?...Other than bringing into the Sallyport and putting it right next to KR's car, because out of all the police facilities in the Boston area, MSP decided the best garage was the one at the recused police department's headquarters.

Final question - the medical examiner said JOK's body temp was 80 degrees...again he fell to the ground when there was just a trace of snow, and he bled a large amount underneath his body. Yet in the leafblower video, it clearly looks like the "snowbank" KR described. Shouldn't there have been a large void in the snow where his body had been, with a very obvious spot clear of any snow immediatley below his head? I understand that 3-4 inches of snow fell between the time he was carried away and the leaf blower video was taken, but it defies believe that nobody on scene would have immediately photographed the void in the snow - and I expect there would have been bare grass covered in blood under his head, a very obvious indicator of where his head had laid. Surely somebody would have sought to preserve that by photographing it as the snow was falling...and surely the leaf blowing efforts would have been concentrated on this obvious blood pool and not the minute spots they fixated on...unless, of course, there was no obvious blood pool under his head?

Bay Area Air District slaps Tesla's Fremont factory with 17 violations in one day

The Bay Area Air District has issued Tesla 17 new notices of violation at its Fremont factory, according to public records. The notices, issued Friday, include alleged violations of unauthorized construction and operations and noncompliance with federal regulatory requirements. The latest round of notices brings Tesla’s Bay Area alleged violation count to 45 just this year, according to the air district’s violation database. Air district spokesperson Miranda Iglesias confirmed the district was investigating Tesla for allegedly submitting inaccurate emissions reports between July 2025 and March 2026 but declined to comment on the specifics due to the ongoing investigation.

“The Air District is actively working to resolve Tesla’s ongoing noncompliance issues,” Iglesias wrote in an email to SFGATE, adding that any resolution would come with a civil penalty.

Tesla did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

JP Morgan upgrades Tesla to 'neutral', sees robotics driving long-term growth

June 5 (Reuters) - J.P. Morgan upgraded Elon Musk-led Tesla to "neutral" from "underweight" on Friday, citing that the electric-vehicle maker's valuation is increasingly driven by its push into autonomous driving and robotics rather than near-term earnings.

The more optimistic view ‌on Tesla comes as Musk pursues expansion across multiple technology ventures. Musk is also taking SpaceX public in what could become the largest IPO on record, with a valuation of roughly $1.7 trillion, and an market debut on June 12.

Investors are looking beyond Tesla's and focusing on future growth opportunities, including robotaxis, humanoid robots, AI chips and software services that could reshape the company's earnings profile over the next decade, the brokerage said.

J.P. Morgan analysts led by Rajat Gupta, who took coverage of the stock last month, highlighted Tesla's unmatched level of vertical integration across hardware and software.
