How to normalize volume?

I think everybody who downloaded music compilations from various artists has faced this problem from time to time. You have a cool compilation of music but some songs are more quite and some are extremely loud.

What I´m looking for is a tool that can normalize volume for an enitre album. Not just a song by song. I´m mostly working with Windows so yeah..

What is your experience with this?

Why don’t have some albums original released year?

Well, this is really confusing. I was searching through the Paul McCartney discography and this album wasn’t in his profile. If I didn’t know the name of this album I wouldn’t know it’s there. Besides that there is no original year it was released which is even more confusing. Why, why? This is not some random indie artist but well known name in music industry.
