I’m trying to switch out my Foredom handpiece with another one and I can’t seem to get the current one off. It stays attached by a coiled wire (photo attached).

This Foredom was gifted to me by a friend who was a jeweler but hadn’t used it for many years.

I’ve been using this Foredom (S series) for at least 3 years without ever changing the handpiece.

Any tips on how to troubleshoot this?
