In all the kerfuffle, how are the children going to be?

There’s much being said about the reasons for the Markles to return to the UK, the obvious one being they are on the bones of their arse. And there is some talk about concerns for the Wales family.

I’m quite sure these two, who have clearly demonstrated a complete lack of moral compass, are going to play the royal adjacent card to the max.

The one that concerns me the most, is the mini-Markles are the cousins of the Wales children. There’s no getting away from it. And you can imagine the “they’re keeping our children from knowing their family” angle that will be pushed upon us. How will William and Catherine handle this. For the sake of all the children?

Whilst we await Judge Nicklin’s ruling, let’s have a little fun.

I stumbled upon the attached rehash of old news. When the then Prince Charles rang Harold to tell him they were all going to Balmoral as the Queen’s health had deteriorated. We know that the idiot Prince got there late as he was arguing about his wife accompanying him. This article highlights that he also wrote this up in Spare. Not that he’s one to hold a grudge …

"He said I was welcome at Balmoral, but he didn't want... her. He started to lay out his reason, which was nonsensical and disrespectful, and I wasn't having it," the duke mentioned in the book. This move seemed to have enraged him, and he told his father not to "ever speak about my wife that way."

What “nonsensical” and “disrespectful” reasoning do we think Charles gave?

I think he used the path of least resistance and suggested that her presence was not required, as she and the Queen didn’t really have much of a relationship.

But the not to “ever speak about my wife that way” makes me wonder if he was more damning. Thoughts?

Interesting back story Re: Sentebale case

I was researching the expected details of the upcoming Sentebale case and stumbled upon this blog from the Chartered Governance Institute of UK and Ireland.

I’ve included the full article in screenshots and also the link. If you follow the link there are more related blog posts too.

I’m not providing anything new here, but it’s interesting for anyone else wanting to be up to speed. Whilst the article was written before the announcement of the libel legal case, it’s interesting to get an understanding of the wheels in motion at the charity leading up to it.

Some snippets from the article include;

The charity's income fluctuates considerably from year to year, but its last published accounts showed an annual income of £3.4m and 107 employees.

She (Chanduka) qualified as a lawyer in London in 2005, working on corporate transactions and IPOs. In the 2021 Queen's birthday honours she was awarded an MBE "for services to Diversity in Business." She is also co-founder and chair of Nandi Life Sciences and founded the Black British Business Awards in 2014, an organisation which she still chairs.

It is safe to say that Chandauka's personal network is comparable with Prince Harry's, and also safe to assume that her knowledge of UK charity law is better than most.

“One of the most demanding celebrity guests the long-running series has ever hosted”

I know the Masterchef Australia episode has been and gone, but this article from the Express piqued my interest.

Now it may be that I am just very slow for all the things to fall into place, but this line suddenly hit me;

“But when she left that, that's when she doesn't understand how to act like a royal except for what she thought a royal was when she was a kid.”

We know she is inauthentic, she’s acting (badly) but it is cosplaying a Royal. Rather than learn from Sophie or Catherine, she has been pretending to be a Princess from childhood, how hard can it be?

Oh, and also, “one of the most demanding celebrity guests the long-running series has ever hosted.” 😂

The 2016 Today Show segment of her cooking is completely different to the Saint as we know her today. Even her voice is completely different. She appears to know what she’s talking about back when it was her only meal ticket. There’s some relatability, less smug superiority. This is the level at which she should have peaked, were it not for the Earl of Dumbarton being such an easy grift.

Daily Express Meghan Manifest

This seems the strangest article to me, it jumps all over the place.

I think the point that the writer Michael Caroll is trying to make (which reads like it’s “on behalf of MM,) is that she is now entering her Emmy Era.

Give. Me. Strength.

Apparently she has played nicely for Harold’s sake, behaved herself in the UK, and now it’s is only fair that it is her turn to shine. 🤢

“ A source quoted by Closer claimed Meghan now wants Harry to put greater focus on their future in America rather than continuing to concentrate on disputes involving the Royal Family.”

“The insider said: "Meghan feels she's done her bit to help him. She went to England, kept out of sight, and abided by all the rules because she knew how important the trip was.”

I’ll translate; Meghan is sick to the back teeth of Harold getting any spotlight. She was forced to stay in the shadows in the UK, because it was the only way she was allowed to be there and that close to the BRF. She feels utterly humiliated by being told to sit still and shut up and will not be going back. Allegedly.

If they divorce, would he be better received back in the royal fold?

In light of today’s gossip.

If it were true he’s been playing away, and if he really doesn’t love Ms Markle, then they may very well get a divorce. He’ll be rid of the nut job and the associated stigma and she’ll have one final payday with the divorce book.

But then what?

Will he return to the UK? Will the BRF be slightly warmer towards reintegrating him? Or is it too far gone, even without her?

I expect she’ll keep the kids in California as that’s her meal ticket and we’ll see a Jolie-Pitt toxic parenting duel unfold.

What if he met a nice but dim, quiet upper class English lady who was content to be in the background?

I don’t think William and Catherine will ever let Harold back in. They have seen how dangerous and deranged he is.

Thoughts and feelings?

Amanda Platell following up on Dr Max Pemberton’s article.

Following on from the Dr Max Pemberton article regarding Harold being stuck in his grief, Amanda Platell considers whether the brothers’ choice of wives has had an impact. Not just their wives, but their extended families by marriage. Well, one of them.
Full article in the screenshots.

Some snippets;

“Which, sad as I feel for Harry, made me think: why hasn't William suffered in the same way with unresolved grief? Why isn't he a bitter and angry man raging like a child against the injustice of the world?
And clear as a bell, a simple answer came to me:
Because he has Kate.”

“Insiders say hell will freeze over before William agrees to meet Harry, so furious is he about the many and various slurs Harry has aired about the Royal Family in, first, the couple's now notorious Oprah Winfrey interview, then their Netflix series and finally - perhaps most damagingly of all - in Harry's scurrilous best-selling memoir, Spare.
William is said to be determined never to introduce his children to them.”

Dr Max Pemberton DM psych analysis on Harold

Dr Pemberton has been pretty reliable in the past, but for me this doesn’t stack up. He’s alluding to a 12 year old’s grief at his mother’s passing as to why he absorbed himself in a legal battle for four long years.

It feels like he is trying to give Harold a free pass.

Let’s not forget the cruelty and unkindness that came from Harold’s own pen. In Spare he maligned his school matron, mocked his brother’s baldness and didn’t give a second thought to outing the woman with whom he lost his virginity.

He is a nasty little man with a vengeance.

It’s a hard pass from me.

Yeah … nah, what a mess.

Look I admit, I haven’t read every article or indeed every post or many comments this morning. It’s a long weekend here in New Zealand and we have family to spend time with.
But I admit, having got the gist of what’s happened I am disappointed. Of course I am. But I am also pissed off. Not angry, I don’t have the time, energy or inclination these days to summon that depth of feeling for anyone. But I am pissed off.
This is such a massive slap in the face for W&C and such a massive disrespect to the British public and the country the monarchy represent.
I’m English, I grew up in London. It used to be a buzz going past Buckingham Palace to “see if the Queen is in.” The pomp and ceremony of royal weddings and events. My parents were huge fans of the royal family and got to meet several members through the years.
Today I think it’s in tatters. Not just this meeting obviously, but the whole thing just seems a charade and a con now. I no longer care for them. Live in the palace, don’t live in the palace. Work, don’t work. I no longer care. Andrew, Fergie, their daughters, Harold, Nutmeg, the American kids. The whole thing is tarnished for me. The shine has been lost. It’s a tawdry, cheapened, soap opera. It’s a mess. It’s a shame.

Sarah Vine in the Daily Mail telling it like it is.

Silly boy Harry.

Sarah Vine nails him to a tee here, too many quotes to pick all the best ones, but my top three;

It's certainly the case that Harry, that most perpetually-peeved member of that most privileged of elites, has never seemed particularly mindful of the repercussions of his actions on others. We have seen this time and again in his interactions with his own family.

Whether this high-handed attitude to other people is something Prince Harry recognises in himself is debatable. Unlikely, since he never stops going on about how he considers himself such a champion for 'kindness'
But to the rest of the world it's a glaringly obvious character trait which has informed many of his poor decisions in life, especially in recent years.

H’s security team call for Metropolitan Police to assist in “crowd management” as he leaves Chatsworth House. Crowd? What crowd?

You couldn’t make this up. Again.

What a plank. The crowd is a handful of office workers and the media. And he gets two. Two! That’s hilarious in itself.

Why front up to the ultimate humiliation?

Well what a tremendous day to be alive! Justice finally starting to be served on Hapless Harry.

But I have been wondering why on earth he decided to be in the UK for this monumental humiliation?

Did he think he was going to win?
Did he want the “palace platform” from which to deliver his pathetic and incendiary statement?
Did Invictus tell him he had to come or he’d be dropped?
Is he just too stupid to realise that the British public are pleased this has happened?
Is it to enjoy playing to his victim narrative?

Any “normal”’person would retreat to lick their wounds after this loss. What is motivating him to allow us all to witness his downfall with front seats?

Technically there’s no reason Mrs Markle can’t come without the children.

I’m sure we’ve discussed this but I’ve had a look and couldn’t see anything. Although in fairness I’m way behind!

But I was just thinking about this rubbish about Mrs Markle and the Littlies. Nothing has ever stopped her from travelling without the kids, nothing. Every single trip she has done she’s left them behind. So why is this any different.

She has no “events” planned as she was going to be “mothering” whilst the Littlies littled. So this would free her up beautifully to quietly support Mr Markle, whilst remaining in the background. Stop sniggering at the back.

Are the children now so distraught that they can’t come that she simply cannot leave them with anyone else. They need her, and only her, to console them.

I mean we haven’t heard any actual tangible reason as to why SHE isn’t coming. She went to Jordan and Nigeria and Colombia, so obviously it can’t be about security for her 🤨 /s

Are they going to offer up some sort of (ludicrous) reason as to why SHE is not coming now?

I think we can help with this, she is not coming because she is not allowed to roam, like a feral alley cat,around Great Britain.

Not wanted and not needed. Shame …

A rather fun article from the UK’s Daily Express by Chris Riches.

The author praises several royal couples, Mike and Zara Tindall and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and with special mention to the newly married Peter Phillips and his bride Harriet who could step up as working royals.

Some favourite quotes;

“ …and Harry stepped away from 'Working Royal' duties years ago for a new, commercially-driven life, exploiting his family and name for personal gain.”

“But now we have a new couple on the scene who bring that extra 'pizzazz' of being newly-weds, as well as next-gen royals and that 'fairytale princess' Disney feel too - much, I'm sure, to Meghan's ire.”

“And this female fairytale holds a UK trump card that Meghan just can't match - she's a paediatric nurse who works for the NHS. That's a PR trump card you simply cannot beat.”

“Harry has exiled himself from history and Trooping the Colour, opting for basketball in Texas instead - he's really ballsed it up.” 🤗

“It feels like emotional blackmail …”

Full Daily Mail article in the screenshots, debating the Sussex’s most recent PR “stunt.”

“All the signals from the Sussex camp are that this trip is a grand opportunity for a reconciliation -“

“For all these emollient words, in royal circles the visit has been interpreted differently. Insiders are aghast at the prospect.”

And what has been said many times here;

“Harry bringing his children to the UK has been interpreted as a 'manipulative' gambit and an act of 'emotional blackmail' against the King.”

The Bank of Pa is paying for beefed up se-kur-itay according to UK tabloid.

According to The Sun, KCIII has agreed to pay for additional security so that H&M can bring the kids to visit Grandpa. I can see this being true, KCIII wants to see the kids, he’s a kind, elderly man, of course he does.

I also wonder if this move has rather called the Markles bluff. She in particular, has used the excuse that it’s not safe for her to bring the children. See also; doesn’t want to be booed.

Meghan Markle's UK return branded 'a dangerous act of desperation'

Article from the UK’s Express, telling us everything we already know, but it’s still nice to see it in print.

Some gems;

“He said: "I mean, it's something Harry could have jumped on a Zoom and said, okay, folks, a year to go. Good luck, let's go for it. Why are they all coming for what is a nothing burger?”

"I believe it's an act of desperation. Meghan is impervious to shame.”

Amanda Platell - “I'm a monarchist but this plan to pay for Harry's police protection so he can swan around Britain would be the last straw.”

Amanda Platell speaks for us all when she says the British taxpayer should not be expected to pay for security for a NON-WORKING Royal.

“But Harry is no longer a working royal; he's given up his royal privileges so that he and his self-aggrandising wife can monetise their connections with the monarchy by launching spiteful and vicious attacks on the institution and his own family.”

“If they want to come here, they should pay their own way out of their diminishing Netflix millions.
Or else just stay away.” THIS!
