I (F, late 30s) am considering returning to the US after many years abroad. I work remotely, but still want to feel inspired to get out of my house, meet new friends, and maybe date again.

I’m looking for:
* Max rent $2000 for 1bd
* Liberal, eclectic, funky
* Has decent queer community
* Easy to get around (either by car or public transport).

So far Portland, OR seems interesting, but the amount of haters online is staggering.
