Solo birthday trip fun 👀 Help?

Hi all,
I’m heading over at the end of the August. I’m staying in a really nice 5* hotel in Costa Adeje right by the beach, half board, but like to explore and have fun too. I’m early 30s, on a Solon trip, and will be out there to celebrate my birthday. I’ve already read online for things but prefer to hear from people. For a girl like me, what’s the nightlife like, where’s good to eat and drink for a solo girl, any exciting activities and any fun ways to mark a birthday?
Thanks in advance

What does your offthe pole training routine look like?

Hi everyone, I’m curious what people’s training routines look like outside of actual pole classes.
I don’t own a pole at home, so at the moment I do
1 weekly pole class (as part of our 8 week course cycle) and then usually either an open practice session or a beginner/intermediate improvers class each week. With what I’m doing I’d love to progress as much as I can even without having a pole at home.

When I trained for a marathon, I realised there was a lot more to it than just running. There were strength sessions, mobility work, recovery, easy runs, long runs, etc., and having a structured routine made a huge difference. I’m wondering if pole is similar.

So for those of you who have progressed well and want to share any of the answers to these, then that would be much appreciated :
-What do you do outside of pole?
-Are there specific exercises you swear by?
-How many days a week do you strength train?
-Do you work on flexibility, mobility or conditioning?
-Are there any YouTube channels, programmes or routines you’d recommend?
-If you don’t have a home pole, what helped you improve the most?
I’d love to honestly hear what a typical week of training looks like for you! Thank youuuuu :)

Make up newbie. What’s a priority?

I’m so basic with make up. Don’t even have a concealer or foundation so thinking I need to get the basics. Will take a trip to the MAC store to find out my shade, but if I was to get 3 things there what should they be? Foundation, concealer and ? Or would you say something else. I’m a dark skinned girl so just thinking of getting what’s right for me.
Also, there’s a look with like a dark lip liner and I think it’s a lighter lipstick and then gloss that looks amazing on dark skin girls, but haha have no clue what they would be in the MAC store. Does anyone know the look I’m talking about? I always wear a vino lip liner and gloss, or a plum lipstick so I’m really trying to branch out.

Next course: Intermediate Static or Beginners Spin

Hello,
So I’ve been doing pole on and off for the last couple of years, due to money, pole access and not being able to climb for a good while. Yay. I can now and have been really enjoying over the last couple of months. I’ve been getting that practice in and about to finish static beginners (aha for the 3rd time) BUT this time I’m ready for what’s next. I have 2 options, either intermediate static or beginners spin. Now I was ready to do intermediate static, and I’ve been going to extra classes and getting that practice time in so was prepared for this one. I didn’t realise that beginners spin was also something people do though. I haven’t been as interested for some reason, haha I’ll probably get super dizzy, but starting to think it’s probably a skill I should learn. But also, I’ve seen the trick list for intermediates and so excited for that. I just do pole for fun and it takes me away from the craziness of life, so ultimately I just want to do what’s best. Haha. Clearly you can tell that I’m confused. My instructor said that she thinks I’d be good in both but depends what I want to do. I just don’t want to do the wrong thing 😭.

Capitalising subjects

I know this one has been asked in the past, but I’m interested to know. Do you capitalise subjects when writing? I’ve seen such a range over the years so just interested in what you do/think, especially when it comes to science.

Confused about deposit process in joint tenancy replacement situation (Housing Association, England)

I’m in a joint tenancy with a housing association in London and I’m due to leave on 1 July. A replacement tenant is currently being processed to take over my room.
I’m getting increasingly anxious/confused about the deposit situation and would really appreciate advice from anyone who’s dealt with joint tenancy replacements before.
When I originally moved in, the deposit was handled informally between tenants. I never met the previous tenant and transferred my deposit amount directly to my current flatmate, who said he would pass it to the outgoing tenant.
At the time I assumed that was normal, but now I’m leaving and things are a bit awkward in the flat, I’m worried about how I actually get my money back.
Recently I asked my flatmate about the incoming replacement tenant and he said he “doesn’t think it would be fair” to ask the new tenant for the deposit money until the end of next month once everything is finalised.
That immediately made me nervous because:
- I’m leaving around that same time
- when I moved in, the money side happened much earlier/directly
-it’s a large amount of money
- I don’t want to end up stuck chasing people (and he’s quite spiteful)
I emailed the housing association directly and they replied saying:
“The current deposit will be returned once the tenancy expires. If there are any rent arrears on the account at the end of the tenancy, this will be deducted from the deposit and the balance returned.”
What do you understand that to mean? Now I’m even more confused because:
does “tenancy expires” mean my tenancy ending on 1st July or the entire joint tenancy ending whenever everyone eventually leaves?
does the HA officially hold the deposit?
or is this still meant to be handled informally between tenants?
I’ve also heard mixed things recently regarding Renters’ Rights Bill changes and whether anything has changed with deposits/joint tenancy arrangements.
For context:
-no rent arrears
-rent always paid on time
-I’m not trying to avoid paying anything
I just want to protect myself financially and understand the proper process.
Has anyone been in a similar situation with a HA/joint tenancy replacement setup?
Who normally returns the outgoing tenant’s share of the deposit in these cases?
