🎂 Cake Day! Four years ago I made my first Reddit post. One picture changed everything.

Four years ago, I nervously posted my very first picture on Reddit. I had no tripod, no Bluetooth shutter, no photography experience—just a phone balanced in the window blinds and enough courage to press the timer and walk into the frame.
Looking back at that first photo, I don't see something to be embarrassed about. I see the beginning of a journey.
Over the past four years, I've learned so much about makeup, posing, lighting, and style. More importantly, I've learned to be comfortable being Jade. That growth didn't happen overnight, and it certainly didn't happen alone. It happened because of the encouragement, kindness, and friendships I've found in this community.
If you're new and wondering whether you'll ever "get there," keep going. Every one of us started somewhere. None of us began with perfect makeup, the perfect outfit, or perfect confidence. We learned one step, one outfit, and one picture at a time.
Thank you to everyone who has commented, encouraged me, shared advice, and helped make this community such a welcoming place. As moderator, it's been an honor to watch so many others begin their own journeys as well.
Here's to four wonderful years—and to many more stories still to come. ❤️

Four years ago, I nervously posted my very first picture on Reddit. I had no tripod, no Bluetooth shutter, no photography experience—just a phone balanced in the window blinds, a timer, and enough courage to step into the frame.
Looking back at that first photo, I don't see something to be embarrassed about. I see the beginning of Jade.
Over the past four years I've learned about makeup, lighting, posing, and style. But the biggest change wasn't any of those.
One day I looked at a photo and my first thought was, "Who's that?" For just a moment, I didn't recognize myself. Then it hit me—it was Jade. That was the moment I realized I no longer needed FaceApp to see her. I deleted it that day, because for the first time I felt like the person in the picture was already there.
That's why I'm sharing these photos today. Not because this is a "look how far I've come" post, but because I hope someone who is just starting sees them and realizes we all begin somewhere. None of us starts with perfect makeup, perfect outfits, or perfect confidence. We grow one picture at a time.
Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me over these past four years. Your kindness, advice, and friendship have meant more than you know. As moderator, one of my greatest joys has been watching others begin their own journeys and find the confidence to share that very first photo.
Here's to four wonderful years, to this amazing community, and to everyone who is just beginning their own story. ❤️

Final day of my Sami & Jo challenge! Thank you, Kat, for the inspiration, and thank you to everyone who followed along and encouraged me. Your kindness has made this challenge so much fun.

When Kat first suggested this challenge, I thought it would simply be a fun excuse to wear some dresses I already owned. It ended up being so much more than that.
Over the past several days, I found myself thinking about styling, backgrounds, and how each dress could tell a different story. It reminded me that creativity isn't always about buying something new—sometimes it's about seeing something you already own in a new way.

Half way to the weekend again. Guess it’s going to be a hot one here today. Hope you don’t have to work outside and stay cool everyone. Day 3 of my Sami&Jo challenge. Been fun I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time.

Good morning. It’s day 2 of my Sami & Jo challenge. I love the design of these dresses I have four of them but always on the look out for more.

It’s Sami & Jo number 2. This is actually the first dress I had as I began my dressing. I pulled it from the bins at Goodwill. Began my love of polka dots.

Good Monday morning. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Here’s to a quick week and the upcoming holiday weekend.

So a few weeks ago I wore a Sami & Jo dress. One of my favorite designers that i own. Well Katalin sort of threw a challenge at me to wear them all. So today is dress one.
